Hold Still, Duck! Say Cheese, Goose!

Yesterday I took the kids to see the ducks and geese that live behind Walgreens. It's something to do just to get us out of the house when it's too hot to go to the playground. I leave the kids in the car with the A/C on, and I open their door and throw crackers to the birds so they'll come closer and the kids can see them. Yesterday I tried to get some shots of them-I didn't realize how difficult it would be!

Here are some "group shots" that I took from farther away.

When I tried to zoom in-well, the ducks and geese just wouldn't cooperate! They kept moving on me!

This would have been a great shot-if I got the goose's head!

And this one wound up being a picture of a duck's butt!

This one's not so bad, I suppose.

Now I finally got a good one! Well, almost!

Oh, well, maybe next time!

I looked at all the pictures ~ they are pretty fast!!! My husband loves ducks, I will have to have him look at the pictures too! It looks like your family had a lot of fun!

Some of them are cool!!! We used to do this with seaguls when I was a kid. We lived near the river, and we'd go to mcdonalds, and throw french fries to the birds! It was great fun lol. I hope all that crap didn't hurt them though!

Seagulls seem to be pretty tough. There was one there yesterday, fighting with all the other birds for the stale graham cracker crumbs we were throwing them! :)

It's even harder to take pictures of ducks and geese when they're in the water! I always find that as soon as I push the button, they dive under. Animals--worse than kids!
