Wow, you should set up a hive and have fresh honey with all those bees! Great shots. Taking pictures has gotten me over my fear of them. I have to get 1-2 cm away for a macro, and I take the chance to get a good photo. Normally I am so scared of bees! However, even being brave, I cannot get shots this excellent Marianne! Way to go!
I prefer thinking, "we do have butterflies here, but I'm just not out in the garden often, when they show up." Fortunately, hubby caught a spicebush swallowtail, and we both saw our annual (OK, probably not the exact same one, but we see one every year) admiral.
Living in a city with few other gardens around, I'm still mystified how they find ours. lol
Actually, even when I run into our lavander, the bees tend to simply move to another flower away from me. As long as we don't reach out to grab them, they won't "grab us!" Then again, they still freak me out when they "invade my personal space" and fly right at my eyes, making a quick turn a mere six inches away from my head. lol
I so love bumblebees. They're simply "too big" to fly, yet no one told them that. I particularly love them, thinking they don't even think of themselves as "too big." lol Thank you.
