South Carolina, The Cats and The Swans

Wednesday night - I'm sitting in the den doing my Gathering and DH is talking on the phone out on the screen porch.  My ears perk up a bit when I heard him say into the phone "I can't believe it, they're hissing at the cats".  Well I had to go see who was actually hissing.  I'd think the cats were hissing at the geese.  To my surprise, both swans were right at the back door and the cats where on the porch, right at the back door too.  Well here, see for yourself....

 

This next shot is my favorite!  The swan is in attack mode and hissing.  You can see Missy has her tail down and is starting to arch her back.

The only way to diffuse the situation and get the swan to back off the door is to feed him.

Open the door and the whole neighborhood shows up;)

After a quick snack they all went on their way and the cats were happy to have the place to themselves again.

How funny. One of the geese at the pond I go to will hiss at me and stop only to eat cracked corn from my hand. It will not let the other geese and ducks near me and tries to keep me in check also, lol.

This is the funniest thing I've ever seen! That swan looks twice he size of a cat. And the gaul of the bird! Hissing at two cats, not even one! I love this Nana. It is like a movie!
