New Snap Happy Photo Theme - CANDID PETS

The newest Snap Happy photo theme is Candid Pets. I've had this idea for awhile, but put it on the back burner because of some great theme suggestions from members.

 

Basically a photo of any domesticated animal would qualify for this theme, including farm animals. The "pet" must be the focus of the submitted shot. The more closeup the animal is in the photo frame, the better. 

 

 

 

 

 

I've included a wide selection of personally taken photos from my 2008 & 2009 archives to give you some ideas and guidance as to what I'm looking for here. The pets DO NOT have to be your own. In fact with the warmer weather upon most of us, I encourage you to get out there to your local parks or wherever and take some new photos.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This theme will run through 5:00 pm EDT on Monday, April 27th. Please include "snap happy" and "candid pets" and "pets theme"  in your tags when submitting images to the group.

If you're not a group member and would like to participate, join here: http://snaphappy.gather.com/    Please read the group synopsis and guidelines before submitting images.  In short, no digitally altered photos will be accepted for judging. This group is for raw photography, not graphic design.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Please try to be selective and creative with your submissions. In other words DON'T post multiple photos of the same exact pet in the same setting. Only pick your BEST SHOTS to post to the group.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, please refrain from photo essays, articles and videos since they will not show up in the group gallery and thus will not be elligble for judging. I will accept them if they fit the theme, but just know they won't be included.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know we have a few group members who excell in this area of photography. So I'm sure we should see some really impressive submissions for the theme. I'm looking forward to seeing what members come up with for this one!

GROUP NOTE: The photos submitted for this (or any) theme, must be uploaded to Gather on or after the date the theme begins. If not, they won't display properly in the group and I simply do not have the time to go through a dozen extra pages looking for stray theme photos.

Jessie, by all means post photos you have too. That suggestion was for someone who might say, "I don't have anything for this theme." The concept for these groups is to get you to take new photos anyway, lol.
