Now, I'm not really one for naming one dog after another dog (or really a person either, for that matter), but that's ok because I didn't name this one. Chow Ling II is a beautiful little pug named after the first pug my grandparents' had while my mother was growing up, who they had to put down. Technically it isn't OUR puppy, it's theirs, since I don't live with them, but Jake and I are all too happy to piggy back on ownership. ;)
Anyway, Chow is a little older now, but in these pictures he's only 8 weeks old and as playful as ever. He was afraid of his squeaky toy, too. Every time it squeaked when he bit it he nearly had a heart attack! It was the cutest thing ever. ^_^
This is the little cutie with his squeaky toy:

And then before I could get any more pictures, Papa decided to come over and start playing with him, so I snapped some shots of that.
This is his size in comparison to a 5' 11" man.

And them just playing.

And then Papa rolled Chow onto his tummy to pet him and Chow started to attack his hand...hehe. Look at that face!

And yes, indeed, Chow Ling is a foot puppy. He's got a major foot fetish. If you've got socks on (and sometimes even if you don't) he feels the need to nibble on them. Not sure if this is just a pug thing or not, but every pug we've had or known has nibbled on feet. It's an easy enough habit to break, though.

And then Jake finally arrived after work and decided it was his turn to visit with the new puppy. Keep in mind that this is Mr. Pugs-are-so-ugly-we'll-never-get-one. He immediately sat down and started playing with Chow and an hour later he was like "I suppose we can get a pug. They're cute". xD

And, after all that excitement, Chow finally settled down for some relaxing petting and pampering time on Jake's lap, which meant that I finally got the opportunity to take some REAL pictures of him. It's not easy taking pictures of a fuzzy blur that moves every half a second. xD

And the ever-popular cocked-head pose that i absolutely adore!

In the end, we're all very happy to have him. Jake and I have been wanting an animal (we've both been raised around them just about since birth), but our apartment doesn't allow pets, so this allows us some animal contact just the same. :) And I know Chow will keep Nana and Papa lively and on their toes.

I love when animals tip their heads to the side, too!
So, looks like Chow has Jake wrapped around his little paw. :P
He IS a cutie!
