It's All Happening At the Zoo - Madeline's First Visit (Photo Essay)

I took Madeline for her first visit to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on August 4th.  It was just me and Maddie (hubby was at work), so I didn't really know how long we'd last....

Here's a sign at the entrance....



Since Maddie had never been to a zoo, she had no idea what to expect.  The first place we visited was the African Savannah.


The Colobus monkeys were our first stop.  Maddie wasn't sure what to make of this.  I wanted to make sure I got her reactions on film....

Here's Maddie getting a closer look from outside the stroller.  She kept shouting "Hi, rhinoceros!"  People around us were giggling.  On a side note, aren't those little legs cute?


 
Next, we saw the zebras, vultures and giraffes.  Here are the zebras:



Here are the elephants. She seemed especially surprised to see these, as if she thought that elephants couldn't possible exist in real life:
