The basic unit of the Knights of Columbus is the local Council. The second highest unit is the "district." The district is the second highest level consisting of several local councils. In some places a district can stretch for hundreds of miles. (The entire Florida Keys, for example is a single district.) The 2nd NY district consists of several councils in the North Fork of Long Island. This is my first term as District Deputy. I installed two of my three wardens at Patchogue Council today along with all the other District Deputies and their District Wardens.
