A Halloween Family Movie Night

Today, we were able to finally sell our old mini-van. It was a nice boost to our bank account, so it was welcome. After doing my own running around, I came home to rowdy kids.

One of our favorite activities in the fall, is having a movie night, all snuggled in our warm PJ's, with warm blankets around us. In the summer, we just don't do it as often. We're busy, it gets dark so much later, so when fall comes back around, we really enjoy it.

While I was in town today, I splurged on a few treats for the kids- Candy Corn flavored Jones Soda ($1.99 for a 4 pack of cans- pricey, but they talk about it all year!), and 3 different flavors of candy corn- Chocolate Caramel, Caramel, & Caramel Apple. I saw them at Walgreens, and just knew the kids would love them.

They are settled in, blankets all over the living room, with some Candy Corn Soda, and a bowl with some air popped popcorn, and candy corn in it. We rented "Halloweentown" from Netflix, which comes with "Halloweentown 2" on it as well. We love Halloween, and the assorted kid friendly Halloween movies that come out.

I love the Halloween movies that don't scare the pee out of me. My daughter (she is 19) was watching Saw this afternoon..YIKES! I had to leave the room.

I like a good horror movie but they are far and few between, I liked The Others (a ghost story) and Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp, that was scary.

I love horror movies for Nick and I- we have a HUGE collection of them (probably 40+ horror movies!). But, for family night, the kid friendly ones are just as much fun :)

My kids are watching Return to Halloween Town on the disney channel tonight. I can tell they love the movie because they are being so quiet. We also ordered in pizza tonight and have had a really nice relaxing Friday night.

It's a cute set of movies...there is a 3rd one too, but we haven't seen it yet.

Okay...as for the candy corn...ick! No one in my family would eat it....we don't like candy corn for some reason. Too sweet I guess.

There are actually 4 movies- Halloweentown, Halloweentown 2, Halloweentown High, and Return to Halloweentown (though the last one has a different Marney). They are cute :)

I like candy corn- in highly limited doses. Usually 3-4 at a time are more than enough for me ;)
