The end of the school year cannot come soon enough. The last day for my daughter was June 12th, but the last day for my oldest son, Bailey, isn't until the 22nd. Honestly, I don't know why I am ready for the school year to end because Bailey does really well in school and doesn't give us any trouble about things. I really can't pin point why I am just done with it all. Perhaps part of it has to do with the nightly homework thing--Bailey does it no questions asked, but then I have to check it, or sign off on his reading sheet. He starts his summer day camp program on the 23rd and I am welcoming the change in our routine. Granted, I will be going into work earlier, but the summer is just a more laid back time of year for us. Plus, between his academics and all of the activities he is in, I think he is feeling a little tired. Besides summer day camp, we didn't sign him up for any other activities this summer. Soccer season starts in August, but he has a good break until then...and so do I!
With all this said, I am kind of sad that the kids are just growing up so quickly. Bailey will be going into the 2nd grade (although he acts like he's a senior in highschool at times!!), Maddie will be going into kindergarten, and Logan will be attending the same private preschool that Bailey attended. *SIGH* Where does the time go?
On a good note, I have most of the school shopping done for the fall. I hit a really good sale at Old Navy (Bailey's fave store...and mine!LOL) and picked up most of their clothes for the Fall. By the time August rolls around, I am hoping all I will need to get is shoes for all of them, which I will get at the Nike outlet store. Bailey will also need new soccer cleats, but again, I will wait until August to get those.
So, I started this rant about school, but I ended up talking about the next school year...go figure!

All I know is one day I had a baby, the next day she was getting married...Enjoy the fast moments well you can =)
Wow that is great that you have their school shopping done for the fall. I wish I was even started with the shopping for my kids. ;)
truthfully I miss it. I live close enough to an elementary school that I can still hear the kids at recess. Every year on the last day there is a bus horn honking party.
The last day here was June 4th!
Nice to see you posting, Sarah! Our kid is on his last class for college (the Italy trip class)........he has to do a huge scrapbook of the 2-week trip to Italy and has been putting it off, till it can be put off no longer....he even had to ask for Friday off work to finish it!).......kids really do grow up quickly.....I can hardly believe our "kid" is 22 and now in his third year of college!!!!!
lol... at the ending
Ours has been out since May 19
I remember those days so well, Sarah, and by the end of the school year I couldn't wait to have my kids to myself. Now, with only one left in school.....he'll be a sophomore in the fall...it has gotten a bit easier!
son graduated,, I hated to see that day,, yet cant phantom another yr of buying all that stuff,, hey I am saving over $500 this summer cool
They do grow up fast, right before your eyes. :) My children are 22 and 26. I have been watching children since they were small that are now 5 and 9, i don't know where the time has gone. I remember those school year days well and the anticipation of the end of the school year.
Hooray summer!
