This afternoon, one of Nick's co-workers texted me, wanting to get our girls together. Mel lived here in town when we moved here, and her youngest daughter Cadence and our Gillian were in class together. Then, in November, they moved.
We've gotten together a few times, since then, but not much. Today, she was going to be nearby for a funeral, and wanted to know if we'd like to meet at the nice park in town and take the girls bike riding. I loaded the bikes into the van, and we went to the park to wait for them.
After being at the park almost 3 hours, I invited them back for dinner, and we grilled out. While we were eating, Catie mentioned that they were supposed to go see "UP" today. Mel asked if I knew if it was here in town, and it was, so we decided to take all the kids to see it.
Nick stayed home, but the girls and I went (Chris is coming home tomorrow) to see it with Mel & Catie. We had fun- it was a really cute movie. Plus, it was at the cheap theater here in town, so I was able to get me, Raegan, and Gillian in for only $10, and I only spent $3 on snacks (2 boxes of popcorn, and 2 Nerds ropes). Not bad for a whole day of fun!
The movie was cute, with a lot of great lines in it. It had a sad moment near the begining, but it was just a good movie. I enjoyed it!

I'd like to see that one. I took Angela Friday morning to see Night at the Museum 2. It was cute...and Ang enjoyed it.
sounds like a full day of fun to me....Jasmine and I have spent every Saturday evening at Steve and his sisters house since she bought this house. Tonight his sister had friends over and it ended up I knew the gal from school. They stayed all evening and we also grilled....we went out and bought the meat and buns and they brought all the side dishes.
sounds like you all had a great time.
Oh- we also went to the store, and grabbed mulch, plus 3 more perennials for the front garden. When we got home, it was horribly over cast, like it would pour. I didn't put them in yet, so I'll do that tomorrow.
What a wonderful day! it's great when people surprise us and come into town like that.
Glad you had a fun-filled Saturday! We did too~
We went to the movies today too. We saw Night at the Museum 2 in Imax. It was awesome. I didn't realize Up was out until we got to the theater. We will probably wait a couple weeks before we go see it. There were a lot of people at the movies today.
cool, glad you had a nice day
sounds like fun ~ Joslyne wants to see this I was thinking of taking her to it. ;)
It sounds like a great day. I've heard the reviews of Up and they are all pretty good.
nice day and wow it's at a cheap theater already? it takes weeks for it to get to the cheepie one here
No, our town has a theater that runs first showings, but cheap- $3 all day for kids, $3 matinee's for adults, and $4 for adults after 6.
I'm glad to hear it was a good movie. Our local theater has it playing now. I would like to take Maddie to the matinee. She has been wanting to see it also.
Did you see it in 3D or 2D? We had planned to go to see it tonight (I had more free movie tickets!), however, we ended up at the hospital, spending time with hubby's dying sister, who is much worse and going downhill very fast. I told the guys we'd see the movie another time.
I would really like to see this movie. It looks very cute on the previews for it.
Sounds like a really fun time for you and the kids!
I think Elliott would like to see Up. I'm not spending $10 on a movie ticket for him, though, since I'm not positive that he would sit through it anyway. Maybe we'll take him to that one if it plays on base in a couple weeks.
