When we arrived, the adults were each given a map of the zoo. Our class was fortunate- we had so many adults, there were 2-3 adults per group of kids, and there were no more than 4 kids per group. I wound up in a group of 4 kids, 4 adults.
The kids were looking over a map, and picked up on something right away- a large dinosaur image. It didn't say what all was there, just had the image. We were stumped, and explained to the kids that dinosaurs were extinct, so it couldn't be that.
Through out the visit, they were insistent on finding what they had dubbed the "Mystery Animal". When we finally did find it, we were all in a bit of awe. In front of us, half hidden by the trees, was a life size statue of a dinosaur. A LARGE dinosaur.
In the area, there were smaller climbable statues of dinosaurs, and a bone dig area, along with some information about dinosaurs being extinct.
Here are some of the photos from the area.

See the little man next to it? Just for a size comparison.

It looks like an apatosaurus. Glad the kids all had fun.
They didn't have anything I could find stating what type of Dino it was, and there isn't anything on the website :(
That's pretty cool
Must be a cool zoo. I like your icon.

Very neat...it looks like an apatosaurus by the head...I doubt it's a brachiosaurus.
Sure is big. Can you imagine seeing one in real life in the woods? LOL
