I haven't made a homemade Orange Julius in probably ten years at least. It is getting hot again here in North Carolina, and I thought it was high time for a cold, refreshing treat.
The handy dandy Google search took me directly to the recipe that I needed and 10 minutes later, we were sipping on cold, creamy Orange Julius'. The kids absolutely loved it! Jennifer had actually never had one, and I could've drank the entire blender full.
I think next time we'll try some pineapple/orange juice concentrate for a little different flavor.
What are y'all doing to keep cool on these dog days of summer?
6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
8-9 ice cubes1. Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in blender.
2. Blend for about 1-2 minutes, adding ice cubes one at a time.
The blog author that published recipe states that replacing half the sugar with powdered sugar makes a much creamier drink. I haven't tried it yet, but it sure sounds good.

Now I sit here with my mouth watering knowing this was
something I couldn't have because of my diet but maybe
I can switch stuff around so it could be. *smiles*
