As I was getting ready to leave to take my daughter to school at noon, I heard about the accident in Grand Rapids. At first, I just noticed it, then I did a double take- my sister-in-law Angie works at Spectrum North. I had to do some asking, since I was still trying to get Gilly ready for school, but found out that it was indeed Spectrum North that was involved in the accident in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Angie was working at the time of the crash, but wasn't hurt (thank God!), but all afternoon, I couldn't shake this horrid feeling over the entire event. I had to catch myself several times from starting a panic attack over it.
I'm so incredibly greatful she was unhurt in the incident. I haven't heard anything about it since then, though. She wasn't able to talk, but called 1 family member to let them know she was OK, then let that person call around. Hopefully all is still well, and I can shake this feeling of dread in my stomach.
Being so close to home, it just hit like a ton of bricks.

Of course that instantly woke me up. I was surprised I didn't hear it when it crashed.
I'm very impressed that no one was seriously hurt. Wow that was a lot of smoke and have you seen the news pictures of the damage? Ouch!
I read that it was thought that the helicopter accidently clipped the radio tower.
