Remember in 2000, when everybody was upset at how the election was finally decided? Well, when all was said and don, I guess it would be fair to say that democrats were more upset than republicans. But let's be honest, if it had gone the other way, republicans would have been as bitter as democrats were and the democrats would have taken the victory, regardless of what anybody thought about it.
OK. Now fast-forward eight years. Let's suppose that, in either the primaries, convention or in the general election, there is a belief that Sen. Obama was "cheated" out of victory. Besides the complaining protesting and promising that the winner will "never get a single judge that (s)he nominates past the Senate", will we need to worry about other things? Things such riots, with violence, injury and destruction?
And is this question an indictment of black Americans, insinuating that their preferred way to voice their disapproval is through violence and destruction?
Or is it an indictment of white Americans, or Americans in general, insinuating that they're too willing to take it on the chin or up some other body part without fighting back?
I surely hope we never need to find out, but I fear that the Clintons' antics may bring this scenario around.

Unless you're a Conservative and then you vote McCain no matter what.
Al Gore may have invented the Internet and introduced us to Global Warming, but his concession to the George W. Bush in 2000 was his greatest gift to our country. He disagreed with the outcome, he could have contested the Supreme Court's decision, but he put the country's unity before his own desires. I hope that the two candidates will follow his example.

Can you say President McCain?
I've read in a couple of places that the blacks are threatening to riot if Obama doesn't win. So, does America give in? I think not.
I don't understand that mentality. How does looting and burning the stores in your neighborhood help you in any way? It won't change the outcome and a month later you won't have any stores in the hood. Of course you might get a free TV out of it.
The only thing I could base my vote on now is Iraq. Obama did not vote for Iraq. Clinton did, and McCain wants to stay there for 100 years according to his own statements. Apparently, he has no checked our bank account recently! We are overdrawn by about ten TRILLION dollars right now, and spending about 1/2 billion a year to stay in Iraq!!!
I don't see how the Iraq invasion has improved any American's lives or any Iraqi's lives. The only thing it has improved in the pockets of WAR CONTRACTORS who are raping the USA!!!
I don't believe in riots, but ALL Americans..black, white, hispanic, asian, indian.....etc...should get on the streets in calm legal protest if McCain or Hillary win! WE ALL want our soldiers home yesterday from this illegal war!!!!
I not sure if it even matter who wins...Our corrupt politicians have driven us so far in debt, and let every illegal immigrant walk into our country, and allowed free trade with communists...etc...that destroyed our manufacturing base here...I don't think there is any way to save America from economic meltdown.
Maybe Dan heard the same black Philadelphia radio personality I heard who said something like, "There's no telling what blacks will do if Obama is denied the nomination." It was a stupid thing to say. Fortunately I think the people who think like he does are in the minority, but it was said. even better is the fact that the minority of blacks who might think such a statement justifies rioting or other illegal behavior are among the even smaller minority of blacks who probably are already engaging in illegal conduct and don't pay attention to politics. I don't expect my black middle-class neighbors to start rioting if Obama does not make it. As for the minority of inner city black youths who might be inclined to riot, as I said paying attention to politics is not their thing and they will use it as a excuse only if someone suggests it.
As for your suggestion that everybody should take to the streets in legal protest if either Hillary or McCain is elected by the voters, disruptive behavior even if it is legal is no way for the losers in a democracy to behave. You accept the loss and move on to the next election, unless after assuming office the winner does something that justifies their removal from office in which case the procedure to legally remove them should be followed.
It's interesting to watch the black-white dance from an outside viewpoint. You guys are kind of funny. The hatred you both profess to eschew and both accuse each other of perpetuating is fed more by the racial chips on your shoulders than by any real acts of racism. Sure, racism still exists, but not at the level the argument would have folks believe. Every day, I see the chip-on-the-shoulder factor where I work, and all I can do is shake my head and wonder. It looks to me like a lot of people don't want that conflict to end at all.
As for the president, the president was chosen a long time ago and upon taking office will become just another puppet on a string. John F. Kennedy was the last real president of this country and was assasinated because of it . .
I can't imagine riots. Cops have many more new weapons now and nobody holds them responsible for using them in any way they see fit. Martial law will end everything that we once held dear leading to the beginning of the end of life as we knew it . .
Election?
Don't you wish.
