I don't have enough time to tell all the reasons that I dislike her. So I will leave it with the most important one and that is I do not like her stances on the issues that I am concerned about the most. Actually I don't like her stances on any of the issues.

Carol, I think you have ole Hil's number just right. I think it's more her personality which seems cruel and nasty and pushy and her personal life that turn her off. I'm surprised at the number of women who are for her, just because she's a woman. Most of these women had little use for her when she kept Bill after his big debaucle as president and lost a lot of respect for her. I don't see how she got it all back. I don't really care for her at all.

I would never vote for (or against) anyone based on race or gender. I base it on how I think they would do in office. I really want to like Hillary, but I simply don't trust her. In interviews, when she is asked a direct question, she bobs and weaves, changes the subject, gives a programmed spiel, and looks put out when the interviewer tries to bring her back on point. She thinks that if she takes a firm stand on something controversial, she will lose votes, so she likes to remain vague. I don't want a President who can't take a stand or tell the truth - or at least do a convincing job of lying! Senator Obama tends to address the question he is asked. Of course, that may be naivety on his part that perhaps he would get over in time, but it is certainly refreshing to see someone ask a question and have it answered with no evasions. After watching Obama, I leave thinking he is young and less experienced, but very smart and quick to learn. After watching Mrs. Clinton, I feel just a bit irritated with her for evasions, and that air of "Oh, I'm smarter than you, and I could never bring the complexity of this issue down to a level you could understand, so you will just have to trust me." When asked about mandatory health care, and what she would do with people who refuse to buy health care because they simply can't afford it, she evaded by saying it would be "affordable" for everyone. That shows me how very out of touch she is with working-class people who live paycheck to paycheck. I'm afraid her idea of what is "affordable" is very different from theirs.

I would need a book to tell you all the reasons I do not like this women, but in a nutshell, she's a snobby power-hungry hienous female (I wanted to use the B word here). I have absolutely no respect for her and think she would do or say anything to get elected. I pray that she is not on the ballot in November.

She gets a lot of personal criticisms about her ambition being made icky in a way that men just don't get attack on.

The funniest and most blatant sexism comes from other hot headed women who would just have her shut up and sit down - just because.

I'm sure there are people out there that do like her, but this isn't the post for them. :-)

She's insincere, evasive, deceitful, power-hungry (different from ambitious), contemptuous of others she doesn't see as an equal or someone she can use.... hmmm... there's more, but I'm sure you get the drift. And if she were a man, I'd dislike her for the very same reasons. I wasn't a Bill fan either.

hi Carol...I think she is a put on - look at that fake smile - plus she's got a certain kind of pushy personality that I can't handle - and I've seen many women with this same general personality and I never liked any of them either - that's the shallow reasons I don't like her...to delve deeper, well, if I had to look at her then I'd have to look at Bill ...that's like having my hair cut in a mullet again - I think all of that is passe' - it's yesterday's news...let's go forward, not backwards - Slaud.

whether she is liked or not ... I think that she has the stamina to handle the hell-hole that the job of president will be for the next couple of terms .....

she had the fortitude to hold her head up and ride out the intense wave of criticism, dislike, and even hatred that was directed at her b/c she did NOT leave a philandering husband ...... and believe me, that takes more guts than most people can imagine .... it is MUCH easier to kick the S.O.B. to the curb and get on with your life ......... because she did NOT do this, she has my admiration and respect .....

I think that we NEED a leader in the white house who can brazen out a tough situation ... and she has proven only too well, that she CAN do so ....

how ironic that she is reviled for the leadership qualities that any MALE candidtate would be praised for ...... and that she is despised for dealing with a very personal, destructive situation in her marriage -- in a VERY public forum ...

more power to her ..... this country needs someone who knows the system and the ins-and-outs of the current political processes .... someone who knows where some of the bodies are buried, so to speak, and can withstand public scrutiny and condemnation with strength, fortitude, and yes .... even a bit of class

I think she might just be the best person for this job, at this point in time .... and, if she has Obama as the VP, he can get a bit of "on-the-job" training and become better qualified to take over as president when the time comes ..... I think they might make a good team ....

I wouldn't vote for her, but it's definitely not because she's a woman. I have a uneasy sense of distrust based on some of the dalliances in their (her's and Bill's) past.

Her positions on almost all issues are identical to Obamas and she has more experience in politics. When her husband was in the White House, she was his top advisor. The Clintons considered his presidency "their' presidency.

I think Hilary will make a very good president. Her husband had a successful presidency and there is no reason to beleive that hers would not be as successful.

America will be either rewarded or punished for the choice that we make in November. I hope Hilary haters do not cut off all of our noses to spite one woman's face.

There is something about her that has always rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it is some of the things people have mentioned here-particularly abrasiveness, she just doesn't inspire trust. Maybe also the fact that I have little respect for a woman who doesn't respect herself enough to get out of a relationship with a man who treats her with disrespect with all his past infidelities.
She has a right to be ambitious---Why is it men are admired for being ambitious and women are scorned?---no, it's not her ambitions, it's her way of being, and as Mariana said, a lack of sincerity in the way she comes across.
All of that said, I think she has what it takes to be President, I'd just rather not have in office another President that I don't trust or respect.

I've met Hilly and spent some time having coffee with her in my home. While she came across as being nice, she also seemed insincere and somewhat phony; like she was more interested in talking about herself and her accomplishments rather than carrying on a conversation. I wasn't a Hilly fan to begin with, but this just made me care for her even less. I didn't vote for her for the Senate and I won't be voting for her for President. I won't be voting for Barack, either.

No real comment that I'm ready to express here.

People say it is not about gender, but it is. Most of the criticisms fired at her, had she been a man, would not even be considered worth commenting on. Ambitious? Of COURSE she is ambitions. Power-hungry? I would HOPE so. She's running for President of the United States for heaven's sake! Not Den Mother. Or president of the local Garden Club (though my bet is most Garden Club presidents would also fit the stereotype).

Does anyone think John McCain, Barak Obama, Mike Huckabe or anyone else who is currently or ever has run ro President was NOT ambitious and power-hungry? Of couse, the one thing they all have in common is they are male, and those traits are often seen as positive, whereas in women, they are STILL seen as negative, especially by those who lack them. Until people in this country can get over sex stereotypes, ANY woman running for president - who is actually qualified to be there anyway, is going to be seen as a mean-spirited, power-crazed b&%@h by a good chunk of the (especially female) population. So sad.

Let's just say she take "Stand By Your Man " to a whole different level! (Now everybody KNOWS that a divorced woman could NEVER even think of running for president) She has had a political agenda since day one and like most politicians......need I say more?

Being from New York she is my senator so a lot of my opinion of her is formed from her years in the Senate, more so than the years with Bill in the white house. Based on that, I have to say that I do not like her. I do not hate her; I simply do not like her.

I will not say she is a liar, but I will say that what she says and what she does is often completely different. She will often talk a nice middle of the road talk, but then walk the walk of the most extreme side of her party. When she first ran for her seat in the senate she made a wonderful speech about how we needed to reach a compromise between the pro-choice and the pro-life factions by reducing the need for abortions in the first place. Then in the senate she went out of her way to oppose the elimination of the barbaric practice of partial birth abortions even though most "pro-choice" people would insist that such methods were not technically necessary for the sake of the woman's health or life.

Think of that carefully when you hear her statements about what she is going to do about the troops in Iraq. Is she saying something that she knows you want to hear? Will she simply reallocate those troops to her own personal war in Afghanistan? (Or should I say Pakistan?)

This has nothing to do with her being a woman. This has everything to do with what I call "Liberal Elitism Disease," the ability to jump straight to the knee jerk party line without bothering to actually engage in the brain before hand. I think she caught it after being exposed to it from Al Gore, the elitist guru of Carbon Emissions.

Your article is not flagged and therefore, I cannot speak (use expletives) freely, so suffice to say that I never have and never will have any respect for her or her husband. Respect is something that is earned and I don't see where either of them has done the footwork to deserve that in my opinion.

It's those people, first they hate "Clinton" doesn't matter which one, are mad because they couldn't take him down on anything other than a B.J. in the white house. So it's his fault the country went to hell. Now it's the Dems fault for not stopping the war, uuuummm, it was a Rep. congress and senate at the time, so it wasn't the Dems fault.

A lot of people hate women in general, more so if they have any power. Martha Stewart, she did nothing, got jail, Ken Lay STOLE for the country and the people, and he would have gotten off if he lived to be sentenced. Just like Libby, he got off and smirked all the way home over it.

It's just something "those" people do, spread lies and take down good people. She has the power, the knowledge and the connections to get done what needs to be done and has the vision to repair this country. But they will be blinded by Obama's talking points. I liked him when he first beat Allen Keys, Heck I could have beaten that guy for senate! Obama's wet behind the ears and needs more time to grow, just as Edwards does that's why Edwards never gets far in these races.

I'm not saying Obama will destroy this country, hell Bush already did that, I just don't think he really knows how to fix it and what he can and can't do as the Leader of the country other than make pretty speech's because the President has no power! It's the senate and congress and the Supreme Court that passes stuff, the president just signs off, I know not what Bush did but he did put his puppets in there to help him be a bigger bully than he was before he hit that chair.

Hillary is not a strong woman. Condoleeza Rice is a strong woman. Mother Theresa was a strong woman. Harriet Tubman was a strong woman. Amelia Earhart was a strong woman.
What Hillary is, is a woman who utilizes the strengths of others to get ahead. And then wants the credit for it.

Ever heard of Bush Derangement Syndrome? It's commonplace on Gather. It's even made it's way into this thread about HRC. A friend of mine started right after Bush was first elected with hateful remarks and I was surprised how personal they were so early on in the presidency. I've seen disfavor for many presidents but nothing as personal as has been directed at Bush.

As for H. Clinton, she's a carpetbagger and an opportunist. As someone else wrote, if her husband weren't president no one would give her a second look. Personally, I think she's an egomaniac and a socialist to boot. If she gets elected, Bush Derangement Syndrome will look petty compared to the slurs she will have aimed at her.

While being "we are the President" in the White House, she badgered Bill (the presumptive ACTUAL President), into vetoing a bankruptcy reform bill that she'd taken on as a cause...

Some years later, now in Congress she VOTED FOR THE VERY SAME LEGISLATION.

There is no moral center to the woman, only greed, need, and arrogance.

I don't think anybody could put it better than Marianne R. That and she brings nothing new to the table in terms of leadership. It's all politics as usual and winning the white house at any cost. Her thirst for power is scary and if I were Obama and he wins the primary, I certainly wouldn't put her on the ticket with him......Unless he doesn't mind watching his own back.

This was an excellent point by Bethany. She gives a list of women who were true trailblazers. people who did things that inspired future generations of females. Look at Condoleezza Rice. never married and came from a poor family. Look at what she has achieved.

Then you look at Hillary. She has been called a trailblazer by her supporters and N.O.W. and within her campaign but what has she done? Can anybody recall a speech or a cause that she championed and saw through that made a difference? She was on the corporate Board of Walmart. That sounds impressive but when you factor in the fact that she was offered the position AFTER her husband won the governorship of Arkansas it sounds more like a conflict of interest. Getting offered a seat on a corporate board of one of the largest corporations in the country who's headquarters just happens to be in the state that your husband is thew governor?

Then there is the Rose Law Firm and and all the failed investments and lost records after the investigations....

The scandals go on and on but I challenge any of her supporters to explain to me what makes Hillary a trailblazers for women to aspire too. What it looks like to me is that she was on a limo-ride behind a bulldozer (Bill) and is trying to form a legacy with spin and distortion. She may be very intelligent and she was an exceptional college student but from where I am sitting her life and accomplishments thereafter suggest that women should marry a man that is going places and don't take the risk of achieving things on your own.

I like her a million times more than I like obama. I won't vote for him. If he secures the nomination (god I hope not) I probably won't vote.
Too many of Obama's supporters (at least the ones I have talked to personally here in Ohio) are only for him because of his race and that he is not a woman. I won't vote for a candidate if race is an issue. We're all pink and squishy on the inside. It doesn't matter.
Plus he has Oprah in his pocket and that is another reason I won't vote for him.
Then theres the whole issue of his skirting issues by not voting.
