Today was the final straw. I've been trying to resolve a bill for over a year. Here's the situation. The doctor says the insurance didn't pay him. The insurance says they did. They sent me a statement showing the check was issued. To make a long story short, I've spent hours on the phone taking notes, names, copies etc. I get promised by my insurance company and the accountant says she never received anything, She's threatening my credit, and my insurance tells me not to pay but to have her call them. She won't call them. They said they called her; she said they didn't call.
So today, I called her to make sure it was handled. She said, I better pay now. I said, the insurance tells me not to pay. I asked her if you would please call them and maybe she would have success because I have been told one thing by the insurance and another from her. She said simply, "NO!" I asked politely, "Why not?" She hung the phone up on me. So, I called her back and asked for an appointment to see the doctor. She refused until I pay the bill. I finally called the doctor's board of examiners and filed a complaint along with several other agencies.
Then, if that's not enough, the pool man was supposed to be here at 6:00 and he never showed. No phone call either. So I called him left 2 messages and paged him. My third message was, "don't call me because I am not going ot be nice. I gave him my husband's number.
My point: Why are people inconsiderate and rude? Why do people rate the picture of a baby less than a 10? Why do people scream as if speaking clearly would not be heard better? Why? I always try to be civil and respectful, but when I meet rude people like I did today, I will not rest until I have satisifaction, and if that means someone's job, I think it's well deserved. Someone has to go far to get me to the point but I am going after that accountant with fire's fury fueled with gas. Was that alliteration?????
Just tell me why? Thanks for listening to my daily rant.

You keep ranting....it will make you feel better.
But that bitch at the doctors office! What a nasty cow. Now me, I would go over to the doctor's office and bitch her out infront of the other patients in the waiting room In fact, I'd wait until it was full up. I might even stack the deck by having a couple of 'patients' of my own in the waiting room to complain about her rudeness once I got started on her. But that's me and I'm a total psychopath.
I hope that you can get it taken care of, and I would inform the insurance company and the doctor in writing of what you have tried to do over time, and that you hold each party responsible, and that they are now in need of making the proper efforts to take care of the situation.
I had a new receptionist in my primary doctors office tell me I was not cleared for my shoulder surgery after I had a clean heart catheter test. I called the cardiologist office, they said I was cleared. I called back and the new receptionist insisted she had in her hand the paperwork she said she faxed to the surgeon and there would be no surgery. I asked her to read it to me and she said she wasn't allowed to by law. I asked her why the cardiologist office said I had clearance then. She said that they didn't want to upset me. Like she wasn't! I called the doctor after office hours and told the answering service that he would take my call. He did and it got straightened out. I had the surgery. All I can say is there are wackos in the world and "rude" is their primary language. If enough people write enough letters these rude people will lose their jobs and maybe stop being rude.
There is another place, probably not hell, for people who rate baby pictures less than 10. Psych wards? Dunno. Bill Maher, one of my favorite funny political commentators, has said with complete earnestness that he just doesn't like kids. Finds then annoying. I don't think he belongs in a psych ward. Then again, would he hang out on Gather? No....
I hate all insurance companies.
The only good thing about rude people is they help us appreciate polite ones.
