Teresa answered you pretty well. There's something to consider, though. If they can't rate, they may go away faster. Which is fewer views. So some of us leave them on anyway just so the silly little troll feels like they have a reason to keep giving us those views. ;)
Also, I've been testing the unique views concept a little, for my own curiosity. Coming back the next day does seem to count as another view.
The 1's are nice, but they get on my nerves sometimes. Sometimes, I just forget to turn off the ratings- thinking they went away.
Anyway, I don't even dislike some LIB'S, some are funny or even smart, they don't seem to bother too much with trivial and repetitive stuff, like a real annoyance and DO actually say something other than "go back to school", etc..
Just for the heck of it, when I graduated from HS, I was straight A student, especially in English- lol.
I admit that was a long time ago and I'm lazy and just don't bother correcting some things, anymore- just don't care too OR just too lazy, not sure.
Ratings do not affect your points directly, unless you accumulate enough '10s' to be eligible to appear on the "Highest Rated" listings. This may garner you additional exposure in the community...leading to a few more points (perhaps).
However, low ratings can actually end up hurting you in the community, and outside of it, so I always recommend turning them off.
