THERE'S A CITY IN SOUTH TEXAS
©Robert C Burnham
There's a city in south Texas
Where cowboys still roam free
A city built on glory
And the legends of history
There's a city in south Texas
Where senoritas come to dance
And old men of the railroad
Come to stake their chance
There's a city in south Texas
And their welcome call - "Rodeo"
Where bustling broncs and wild bulls
Provide a western show
Davy Crockett and his friends
At the Alamo they once stood
And no one has forgotten
They gave all that they could
I came to this city
Not knowing what I would find
The days are sweltering hot
But the evenings are so fine
There's a city in south Texas
Where my heart waits to be whole
To be taken by your love
As we walk the San Antonio
Stroll

Lovely poem, dear. I wish you all the best. Hugs.
We stayed at a motel once. There were fights in the alley.
I miss San Antonio, and this poem makes me miss it that much more. Great write.
