Last night I had the following dream:
I was at a mall in a food court - first person perspective, but I wasn't me. I was a young woman of some sort, having a lunch with co-workes. Two women came up to me - a heavyset mother with a round face and blonde hair, and her daughter in a salmon pink sweater with long hair.
The older woman said "Do you know what an invinceory story is?"
And I said "A shop where they sell invincerories?"
The younger girl was very offended by this, and flipped me off and called me a bitch as they were leaving to go look for one. I got angry at that, and got up from the table and took off after them. I smacked the girl a couple of times, and a security officer in a booth said that this was assault, and I would have to go with him.
He handcuffed me, and took me to a house, with a flight of stairs going down (they were covered in very bad florescent carpeting, and had some worn spots). I was to be incarcerated in the basement for some time, and he asked if I had any requests.
I said three: One, that I have as many books as I need to read until my release. And two, that I be brought fresh food - good meat, clean water, and oh, vegetables and fruit so I don't get scurvy. And three, that I have a comfortable bed. He led me into a cell and clearly intended to honor my requests, which prompted me to say "This isn't much of a Spanish Inquisition."
And that was when I woke up.
But what is an invinceory (invincery?) and why were they looking for it? It isn't a real word. Maybe they were trying to say 'inventory'? Ah, the strangeness of dreams.
