Something funny happened to me today. I got a text message from a friend saying that she and some friends would be gathering at 10pm and was hoping we could join her. For a good 40 seconds I thought, Oh wow, she's going to be on Gather tonight. The girl is not a Gather member and was merely inviting us to a get together. Ouch! :O

What are your particular signs of Gather addiction?

Too much time spent here.

Taking a photo and thinking "I'll use this in a photo essay on Gather" Ditto for movies for that matter.

Going to a place and thinking "I'll write an article about it for Gather and/or AC" lol!

To be fair, Gather pays my bills, so, it's well worth my time to show signs of 'addiction'.

I just can't wait sometimes to curl up in bed with my laptop and read funny articles and view and comment on pictures 8) Sometimes I lose track of time... and am gathering until the wee hours of the morning! One night I was suffering from major insomnia, so I gathered ALL NIGHT LONG! But I've sent in for 1 gift card and am hoping to get enough connections and groups to be a part of the $50 a month club 8)

LOL..Yep. You've been here way to long.

I "use to" spend hours on Gather. I would literally pass days away on Gather. I missed phone calls, meetings and what not because I was "reading just one more article". I learned that life don't happen on Gather, we talk about it here. I had to actually go live for something to share. With a little help of upgrdes and mean people, I'm down to about 20 minutes of Gather time a day. Not completely over my addiction but better then 20 hours here.

I love it! We all call it "Gathering" and say "I gathered". You might be an addict if...you have turned Gather into a verb!!

Good for you, Sara! Keep fighting the good fight :) I think all things in moderation are important. Sharing real life can be fun on Gather, just make sure you actually go out there and live it! In fact, this might be a sick way of looking at it, but isn't Gather an inspiration to go out and do cool things to then be able to share with people on Gather? Hahahaha!

The cash program is when you are awarded cash instead of the gift cards. You need to earn 3,000 points in ONE MONTH ONLY to qualify. It's my understanding that not everyone is offered the option to switch to cash, though, even if they DO get the 3,000 points in a month.

If you get the offer they will email you and ask for a W-9 form before converting you to the cash program.

I can't upload my podcast (audio) show here so my main gallery is over at another community. I don't get how one makes money here with points. Why are some people accepted for the cash out and some aren't? I still have a lot of questions I guess about Gather. The people seem awesome here.

These are all great, gang! I particularly like the "lone G", being late for work, and the Aussie who Gathers and doesn't even get points! That's dedication.

Regarding my incredible surprise from super-wife, thank you so much for the Kelly Clarkson concert!! But..... Hmmm.... you were thinking about Gather while we were there?? Haha! :) Nice.

I know I am an addict because I now carry my camera in my purse at all times in case I see something I need to take a picture of for Gather.
