Shades of Yellow ... and the Yellowest Are ...
hmmm ... I hope this doesn't get labeled as yellow journalism ...
My jaundiced eye has viewed the over 300 yellow entries, many of them several times, and after great deliberation ... I have narrowed the field to my three favourites! Which was not an easy task.
Best of Show: My three favourites from left to right.
You, the members of Capture This!, not only posted a humongous amount of yellow photos, you posted a ton of fantastic images that made it very difficult to select just three ... so I picked a few extras ... I have bestowed honorable mentions in three categories.
The red brick, blue grey slate, the patina of the lamp post, all accentuate the yellow seat of this bicycle, even on the thumbnail image, it just jumps off the page.
So many shades of yellow and the dark archway in the center draws the viewer all the way down this golden hued alleyway.
A cute picture with a lot of aaahhh effect, it also has a subtle gradient of yellow sweeping across the page punctuated by the little black eyes.
Honorable Mentions:
Flowers
Pets
Funny
Bobbi
A nice close up with neat editing effects.
Shannon
hmmm...whatever happened to dog paddling ...This duck in a pocket just quacked me up!
If you haven't already viewed my favourites in this week's Capture This! please take a moment to look them over and tell your fellow photographers how much you enjoy their photos. If you have already viewed the photos, please stop by again and congratulate them on being very Very YELLOW!!!
Cheers to one and all that posted YELLOW photos!
Public Service Message:
School has already started in many communities and many more will begin tomorrow.
Here's a little visual reminder created from some of this week's Yellow entries:
Watch for kids walking to and from school, and stop for school buses and crosswalks!

I know how hard it is to chose from all those lovely photos.
The duck in the pocket gives me the giggles!
Be sure to click the photos and give the winners their due!
Also, you will find 300 more YELLOW photos at Capture This! some are mellow, some are manic, but all of them are yellow!
It is a huge task when there are so many wonderful entries.
Mr. Bill, you have chosen beautiful images.
I really liked the way you presented this article with tables and headings and nice little comments under the images.
I greatly appreciate your comment about the article ... this article almost didn't happen ... the gather publishing tool was a total b ... b ... bear! this morning and kept lagging, freezing up, and losing images and links so much that I thought I was going to have to email my pics to jackie and let her try to write the article!
You are THE MAN!!
Congrats to all the winners!!!
It's great to see such an incredible mass of talent, I've been visiting most of the yellow entries and will try to get to the rest ASAP.
Thanks again to Bill and all the other Gatherers :)
huggzzzzzzzzzzzzz,
Congrats to all !....love Shannon's pitbully Dulce shot!
Like the presentation with the clickable photos,Mr. Bill
Thx to Chica and Melissa,too
cheers,gayle
Thanks for judging this week's Capture This theme. You did have a tough time choosing, but your choices are great ones.
I adore both the arch & the chicks and appreciate the work involved in Mr. Bill's job.
I took that bike photo last year and recall stopping in my tracks--photo trigger finger itching- and telling my husband, Got to go back to the hotel for the camera! The bike had such impact because even a year after the grim reality of Katrina, it embodied the exuberence & joi de vi so typical of New Orleanites!
Congrats to Nan & Layne for their wonderful yellow captures! and as they say in New Orleans, Laissez les bon temps roulez! (Let the good times roll)
Cheers! Carol
Yellow is my favourite colour, especially the yellow rose. In China, most people go to work or do shopping by their bicycle; I love to outing by bicycle together with my kids.
Look at those chicks, they are so cute, I love them.
definitely sharing the light,
