Have You Seen This Photo? (this is not one of my photos)
Nanina Hawk from my home state of Colorado has posted an absolutely magnificent photo of a wild bird in her backyard or maybe this is her front yard...either way you should give it a look!. After the Bald Eagle, the Great Blue Heron is probably the most majestic and endangered of birds in North America.

You are right it is in the backyard. The backyard is on Warren Lake here in The Fort. I'm sure you know where that is. We have three mating pairs here and one pair hung out through the winter.
Boyd lake in Loveland has some mating pairs as well. Some day I hope to get a photo of one in flight, they are magnificent.
Didn't you go in the wrong direction Mr. Bill? Usually people leave California and go to Colorado, not Colorado to California.
I've been trying to get a family of Sand Hill Cranes to pose for me but then are cooperating. They come every night just enough out of range to get a good shot. And considering my poor little 'old' camera is only a 2.0 I have to get them pretty close to even see them in the picture. :( I need a new camera.
