Gesner's book was colored by hand. They had no way of printing color in 1551. This is the oldest book that I have studied other than the Bible. I do not own a copy of it, which is probably worth a fortune. The book has been scanned and is on the Internet.

The reason I have studied this book is that it was an early attempt at science. It is about zoology.
