It's Kris Allen Day in Arkansas

Last Wednesday evening, Kris Allen fans learned that he had advanced as one of the Top 3 Finalists on American Idol.  Yesterday, he returned to his home in Arkansas for two whirlwind days of concerts and interviews.    My daughters stood in the heat and humidity in Conway this afternoon to get to hear him sing a couple of songs and to see the Mayor declare this "Kris Allen Day in Arkansas". 

 

He also found out that he'll be singing "Apologize" from One Republic as the Judge's Choice on Tuesday's American Idol Finale.  When asked if he'd decided what he will sing as his choice, Kris smiled, but wouldn't reveal the title.  "You'll just have to watch and see!"  he told the news reporters.

He seemed overwhelmed at the number of people who showed up to welcome him home!  There were estimated 20,000 in Conway, with another 3,000 at an earlier concert in Little Rock's Rivermarket and a packed house at UCA's performing arts center which holds 1,000.

a big ten. These are all great pictures of him. I have family that lives in Arkansaw also. I wonder if they went to see him. That is great that the mayor called it Keis Allen day :)

my daughter took these.  She and another friend stood for 6 hours in the broiling sun to get to see him.

He is an excellent singer!! All three of the guys left are so good, I wish they could all win. They've had some wonderful talent this year. I looked into going to the American Idols tour concert, but the only tickets left were bad seats for $50. Bummer.

Those are good pictures of him. I bought concert tickets yesterday to see them in Glendale Az. I have been to 3 of the previous Idol concerts and enjoyed all of them.
