This is tribute to my Uncle John T., whom I have never met; but feel as though I know him very well. My Uncle's plane was shot down somewhere over Europe and he was never found. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star posthumously; which I now proudly display with honor. I thank God for him and his honorable service to our country and its people. Thank you Uncle John from the bottom of my heart, and I can't wait to meet you in Heaven.
People like my Uncle John are veterans, who represent freedom and the cost of our liberty. They are our national hero's and our warrior's.
The price of this freedom is not purchased in a lump sum. It is paid in installments by our veterans like my Uncle John
These veterans like my uncle John are our heroes,
our daughters, and our sons.
They enlisted for the duty at hand
to serve the cause of our country and land
We must always separate the War from the Warrior and be never failing in our quest to Honor Respect and Remember our Men and Women of the Armed Forces.
Our veterans are not gone until there memories are.

we all have someone who has been in the military
and they all deserve our honor and respect... thank you April...
Blessings to all our veterans.....and everyone in the military today...
My oldest brother Alan Floyd is named after my mother's brother Floyd. Floyd came home but died ten years later from complications from his wounds.
Huge price for one family (one mother, one sister) to pay.
God Bless All Our Troops & Veterans. Amen.
Thanks.
This is a great article. You should be proud.
Patricia, those are my sentiments exactly. To both April and Patricia.....Very well written and you have both touched my heart.
I had a brother that was in the Merchant Marines in WW II and his ship was sunk by a mine. He survived but was MIA for two weeks. We received the standard MIA letter from the DOD and it was devastating to the family. He was later found floating in a rubber life raft. I was way too young for military service at that time and even missed the Korean Conflict but I enlisted in the Army in October of 1958 and spent the next 11 years, all during the Viet Nam War.
This tribute means a lot, not just to Uncle John T, but to every veteran and active duty man or woman, and Reservists. Thank you so much.
You should post this to my group to honor!
It would fit in perfectly.
My grew is made basically to honor those we love or have great appreciation for.

Still, it feels so little. They react with surprise at first. Then a smile and a Thank You in return.
I know exactly what you mean and I am glad you posted this in our soldiers behalf.
I loved your article.
