Military Family

I am from a Military family...My family has been in the military since the Revolutionary war.My GGG father was in the Civil War,my GG Father was Military,as was my grandfather,,,,My Father was in WW1,I had two brothers in WW2(my oldest bro was a paratrooper and jumped at Normandy) My two youngest brothers were in the Viet Nam War,And now I have two nephews in Iraq.My husband was involved in the Cuban crisis,and my Aunt Renee was an Army nurse in Korea.....Yes,I know all about our troops.I know the hell of waiting and the constant praying,and wondering each day,if we would see some officers at our door with bad news.

Can anyone tell me what this war in Iraq is accomplishing,besides death ?

As a marine wife, I know how you feel. However I think you made a boo boo when you posted this to IMMATURE AND SILLY STUFF TO MAKE GROWN PEOPLE CHUCKLE CLUB. This post is not making me chuckle.

I am a 20 year old mother of two. My husband was not her for the birth of my first born. He will not be here for the first birthday of my youngest. Believe me I disagree with this war. However its my husband's job. If he isn't complaining about it, I don't see why so many civilians are.

This war could have been avoided by not electing who we elected. I'm going to cop to the "not my president" excuse.

Right now if we pull out, all of the sacrifices that my husband and his friends have made will be in vain.

Hopefully, war eventually leads to peace. You'd think the folks over there would get tired of war, as much as they see of it, but then again the leaders who make these decisions don't actually go fight, do they? Maybe Bush and Ahmadinejad just need to have a slugfest in private.

I am a Navy vet. My son joined the Navy right after 9/11 and went into bootcamp before his 19th birthday. He was a medical corpsman and volunteered for Fleet Marine Force so for the last couple years of his tour he was with a Marine battalion that went over to Afghanistan and Iraq. He's out now and living in CA applying to police academies because he feels strongly about serving others.

I don't see how people can "know" history" and fail to apply any of the lessons to what goes on now. We just play partisan politics and feel superior when we're not the ones who have to make the hard decisions.
