Jeff Talmadge is a Texas born, Atlanta based poet turned lawyer turned songwriter.
This song is called Wrong Train, and he’s recorded on his most recent album, At Least This Much Was True, a recording which is full of observations and insights such as this one. Talmadge is one of those American artists who , like Gretchen Peters and Lisa O’Kane, are fine songwriters of Americana music and see who seem to be better known in Europe than in North America. If you like Peters, or Dylan, or Chris Smither, give Talmadge a listen. He doesn’t sound like any of them, of course, but he fits in that company.
