Katie Couric- finally getting it right for CBS?

How bland televison network news has become and how desensitizing and over exposed the information bombarding us most of it horrible.

Watching debates looking at the people seeing agendas and looking for some reality.

These debates are not really debates- they are a question and answer mentality.

If you are going to do it do it right- it has to be one on one.

Right from the beginning- asking hard questions that demand a real and true response.

How do you feel the candidates responded?

Were they clever or were they actually transparent?

Did any of them really scare you?

Did you question everyones actual intentions?

It shows me a better picture and also exposes them to a scrutiny that we have rarely seen.

Since God is unavailable to run for President I sure hope we can get it together for once and do it right!

Or I am afraid we will all to soon -Be in a real world of hurt!

You can take that one to the bank!

I saw a segment last night, I think she's a hoot...tries to come across serious but always makes me laugh...I don't know, maybe she just doesn't do it for me with her perfect lighting and sitting on the desk to look sexy when she first started doing the news...
While some of the questions are good, I can't get past her presence.

I prefer Charles Gibson on ABC. But, as usual, Nigel has demonstrated that he is the obvious choice. I'm not one to be swayed by "looks," but Nigel is one handsome guy. I hope it doesn't affect his campaign negatively. I'm glad he posts these astute articles to demonstrate that he's not just a piece of beefcake.

I'm still trying to figure out how is it that the people delivering the news became more important than the news itself? This dates back to "the man America trusts" Mr. Walter Cronkite, who turned out to be a closet liberal, as if we couldn't tell.

All of this talk of news anchors in a "flat world," where there are so many other platforms to get information, is just silly (not saying your article or thoughts are silly, just an observation on the popular culture's obsession with anchors).

I don't watch broadcast national news much -- too corporate. So many big stories don't make it to the broadcast stations because of their hands being in the pockets of Neo-cons and big business.
I'll watch CNN, I do watch 60 minutes, but I usually head to The Nation, The Economist, BBC America or other internet sites for the news. It's a real shame that I have to watch the British News to find out what's happening in my country.

Oh My God! Newsflash that pre- empted everything The Steriod Dispute in BaseBall!
Give me a break- Is it that you take seriously- we come from a society that our fathers used to pump steroids in our food supply as a matter of course.
We all should be asked to go in for a complete test to evalute all the steriods, antibiotics, anti viral, toxins, artificial substance we all have in our body- from the Hexachloraphine generation to the tobacco culture- we are poluted and unless we as a people clean up our act how can we just clean the enviorment?
