Old Articles & Photographs - Somewhere?

I have been on Gather for well over a year and a half and have written many articles and posted many beautiful photographs.

There is just to many pages to go back through and there is not a fast way to access old memories!

It takes so very long to navigate through all my archives which include all my videos.

It would be nice if people knew of all the great things people post and then are relugatted to the dust bins of old material.

It reminds me of the time I found peoples life memories stored away in dusty boxes waiting for the day for someone to stumble upon them and look inside and like Ghosts from times past give new life to lives that are now gone.

All of our lifes work will someday go to these dusty boxes awaiting someone to go into the tomb of our archives and maybe to enjoy another place and time.

These are just some of the melancholy thoughts that occupy my mind.

When we live the magic spark is apparent to everyone, but when we pass only our utensils remains, but that glint that spark is gone forever.

Welcome to anyone who ventures deep within my library and looks for meanings & truths to my life- as I did with others in my day.

All the best to mall my friends here at Gather.

Maybe someday someone can address this situation about what happens to the many old pages of old articles- photos, videos and memories.

That make up our lifes stories or biography!

I was thinking we need a way to organize and sort. I think that is a great suggestion to make to gather for the next update.

I have been putting together my family memories into one spot that I call my Family Memory Box. Right now that box is actually an old piece of nearly indestructible Samsonite luggage in a vivid shade of hot pink that my mother found at a thrift store. I love it!! The only problem is that it is heavy even with nothing in it but now that I've started filling it up, well, I can barely lift it!! :-) I have been taking pictures of everything that I am putting into the box and have posted most of them here on gather and then I save those to a file on my computer called Family Memory Box. I like continuity and the easy way!! :-) So someday when someone in the family perhaps goes through this box of family memories, it will be easy for them to make some sense of it. It's all I can do for now.

Now my old gather material, there really is no way to sort through that except as you say, the hard way!

Sounds like this would be part of a never ending story.
It would be easier
also if we could sort or groups into categories!

A table of contents for everyones individual book. I hope someone at Gather does this some day!

There is an easy way to view the older content of any member, by adjusting the number of images, articles or videos displayed per page. You can even view ALL of your images on one page, if desired.

Interesting article: which reminds me of something that I heard, in a way, from a fellow psychic, would Christians of the Earth, no let's start with the Pope...Like to have published an original Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Will wait and interpret various changes and messages from many forms of Communication.

sounds a little sad... I think all our memories help make who and what we are - even if do not physically access tangible proof (photos) of things...

Such is life and the graveyards are full of headstones each with their story- many who have passed away like the evening sky to return again so why even try?

I like to save all my writings, so I print them out each time I write and put them into a folder so I don't forget what I have already posted. Of course, I don't do this with photos. If I see something some one else has written that I like, I might print it out to share with friends or email the address to them to read. I doubt if any one is categorizing this stuff on their own. But thanks for the insight.

I have the same problem as everyone else and was thinking I should let everyone know what I have started to do. I have made a folder on my computer names "gather" with sup folders named "files to go on gather" and " Files on gather" This way I can put photos and articals I want to put on gather in one place and when I have put the file on gather I move it to another place. This way I can keep up with what I have posted, and only have one place to look for the files I want to put on gather. I have also made a file for things I am working on for gather.

As all my children are grown, I have been pondering going through my own old photos, and giving them each a collection. It will be a monumental task, but I am excited to begin to remember the good times.
