I go back to work tomorrow!

I am going back to work tomorrow (Friday) after our summer break.  The kids come back on the 19th.  I will work for 8 days than I'll have my surgery and be off again for 6 to 8 weeks for my recovery!   8 days are better than none, at least I'll make a little money.... I'll need all I can get!   At this point I still don't know what school I'll be assigned to, my surgery kind of throws a monkey wrench into my placement.  I won't find out until tomorrow at the morning meeting with the entire district staff.  At this point I wouldn't even mind going back to the school I came from..... principal and all!  I'll update you as soon as I find out!  For those of you that don't know I am a special education one on one aide.  I will not be with the student I have been with for the past 3 years, because his I.E.P now has a reduction of aide hours and since I'm a 6 hour aide they need to put me in a 6 hour situation! :-(   I'll miss him, I was hoping to be with him until he graduated!  He is going into 7th grade this year.

I hope you have a safe surgery Trudy and a quick recovery! That is wonderful you are an aide to special ed kids. It takes a lot of patience to do what you do!

Our schools don't go back until after Labor Day. BUT we don't get out until the end of June, so I guess it all evens out. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for you :-)

Have a blessed day tomorrow Trudy. I know that you have so much on your mind right now. I have been praying for you ever morning between 8-8:30 that your blood counts will stay steady until the surgery , that your body will maintain strength and that you will receive loving and diligent care. Working as a one on one aide is not an easy task, but if you get to know the student as you had gotten to know the student from whom you were transferred, it can be a good working relationship. I know a lot of one on one aides who just don't like their jobs, because their students don't care to work, or won't listen, or something crazy like that.

I will pray for your safe surgery, and a quick recovery, and for you to get an good student to work with.
