QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What would you do to pass the time if the power went out right now?
*I have a story about skinny dipping and getting caught by Com-ed....ugh.

My husband and I just got back from walking the dogs. He is mowing the lawn.
I am about to pack up for tomorrow's classes.
We have a generator so the power should not go down.
thanks!
thanks!!
During the day: Read, write or walk the dog.
During the night: Sleep. Seems to be the only activity approved for my bed. Activity that I am welcomed to partake in anyhow. LOL
Thank you for posting my question.
I would sleep ... hey, I sleep when I have power!
Thanks everyone for the answers.
It was certainly not safe to take a walk or go biking. I chose a new book and read by the light of two oil lamps. Eventually, my eyes started crossing and I went to bed. The power came on with a WHUMP about 3am. The TV came on really loud and blew us out of bed. I am so dependent on electricity!!
First I will tell you that when my power goes out I cannot cook, flush a toilet, get water, or cool or heat my house. Luckily I do have a fireplace and a barbecue and three acres of woods. Any more questions?:)
I moved into a new house just before Hurricane Andrew (1991) and it did a lot of damage to utility companies. I had no power for 10 days and most of my neighbors stayed elsewhere. It was stifling hot but I stayed there and showered at work. Mostly I read by candlelight.
That experience is why we try to stay prepared now!
alright and there are 50 apartments here so that would take quite
a while to do that. There are three levels plus if the elevator wasn't
working I would have to use the stairways, bummer. Daytime would
take a nap like I always do.
YOU KNOW DURING THAT HUGE BLACK OUT IN NY BACK IN THE 60'S I THINK IT WAS...THERE WAS A HUGE BABY BOOM 9 MONTHS LATER!
KATHRYN, YOU ARE ONE OF THE TOP CONTRIBUTORS ON GATHER...I AM SURPRISED YOU CAN NOT TAKE A MINUTE OR TWO TO GO TO SOMEONES ELSES PAGE.
OUR HOME IS COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON ELECTRICTY TOO...IN 8 YEARS WE HAVE LOST POWER AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES. WITH THE WORST BEING 18 HOURS. THE LAST ONE WAS A COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK AND THAT WAS 9 HOURS. THANKS GOD FOR BATTERY BACK UP ON THE SUMP PUMP...IT RAINED AND RAINED AND RAINED.
AGAIN THANKS ALL!
Just doing it without MP3 or TV going . .
In the past when power went out I have gone visiting to neighbors to tell stories.
( I shine in the arena of oral storytelling - Its hard to put hand motions, voice inflections, and voices into writing )
Douglas, I love a good story teller!! My grandmother made us roll with laughter every time she told a joke or story!!
