Trip to the mountains or beach get away?

*When I was kid we would spend summers in Michigan...days filled with playing in Lake Michigan, nights of bonfires and great food. Long walks in the woods picking wild flowers. Such bliss.

its funny b/c I recently had a conversation about this...... I had gone to a beach getaway with my boyfriend and now we're talking about a mountains one XD so I guess thats the answer for me :)

It's a tough choice, Mandi. Growing up in No. Cal. I was spoiled to have so many amazing beach or mountain options. It's why I've remained on the west coast - that way I don't have to choose :)

I love the beach. I'm not big on actually going into the ocean, but I love the sand, the sound of the surf, collecting seashells, etc.

Beach, but we are far from the beach, and with high gasoline price, unfriendly airport bs, we opt for the mountains (closer destination than beach for sure).

I spent many a happy weekend in Michigan, same place as Mandi did. We had a ball.
But I would love to go to the mountains in the spring, I was there in winter skiing.

BEACH BEACH BEACH :) I love the mountains to look at for a while, but I don't ski, and I get scared being in a car driving up the mountains, so nope, give me sand, surf and sunshine (although I hate crowded beaches)

I love both. If it is the beach, though...I prefer one that is uncrowded and unspoiled by tourists. The more natural, the better. I love the Ocrakoke Island on the NC Outer Banks...sooo pretty. Also, the beach in Cozemel, Mexico was stunning.

I love my water and grew up on Lake Erie so I have to pick the beach. I just don't like the HOT beaches... I'll take my cool lake beach. I'm lucky enough to live where I have both at my doorstep.

When my wife and I were dating (engaged), we would drive to the beach in Northern Indiana (Indiana Dunes) from where we lived in Chicago. It was always a romantic day because not only would we spend time together, we would see some beautiful scenery. We also did our share of fooling around on those days. Oh the stories...It was a blast!

I live in the mountains and I love them But I miss going to the beach. When we lived in San Diego we went to the beach at least once a week.So I vote THE BEACH

I am a beach person! Without a doubt. I would rather spend the whole day on the beach than on a mountain. My ears clog up when I even drive upward onto a mountain. I could barely swallow when we were on Meat Cove at the top of the mountains in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I couldn't wait to make it to firm ground again.
