Well, we obviously don't need this program so why should we have it? It's really simple!
This is just another piece of a master plan that was put in place under LBJ starting in 1964. The fact of matter is that the Marxist left hates freedom and democracy. In fact, the Marxist left would prefer that the American people live as proletariat slaves under the rule of the United Nations. Obviously, the fastest way to accomplish this transition is to pass needless spending programs and then tax the people into oblivion while bankrupting the federal government. So far I'd say that their plan is working quite well.
It really is just that simple! The Marxist left is actually trying to bankrupt and destroy the American way of life. Also, we cannot hope to get these petty tyrants out of office until we admit to ourselves that they really are pure evil and that they really do wish to impoverish the whole nation. Think it over...............
I think that is an extremist guilded view of things. The problem is that the wealthy are constantly being given ways to avoid paying their share to help society around them. Yes there is over spending, but this administrations way of doing things is adding to the coffers of the rich, and taking from the people that actually run this country with their hard work. As far as the health care measure, I have not been able to find reasons to be against insuring that people have a chance of caring for their families, DESPITE the economy. Yes, the system helping those in poverty is flawed, but just cutting off the funding is only hurting those who are working within the system the way it was intended, as a temporary measure to help people through some tough times. I don't know if you have had to work through the system, but I worked my way through and OFF of it. There are many trying to do the same now, only to get slapped down the minute they walk into a job that doesn't even feed their family. Obviously, you have never suffered misfortune, good for you. Don't assume you understand anybody who was, is or will be going through those times.
When people in this country consider a Children's Health Bill as an object of needless spending, it's no wonder that millions of this country's children who live in poverty go without services that the middle and upper class take for granted.
Obviously you and Denver do NOT work with children!
Children are the least able in society to protect themselves or get the care they need. They are also at a most vulnerable stage in life, since injury or illness during development can have lifetime implications. As a society, we have deemed protecting children as a critical social and governmental function.
The SCHIPP program provides access to medical care for children whose parents cannot afford or do not have the resources for health insurance or even basic health care. This program means that parents can take their children for care when a medical problem presents and it is the easiest (and most affordable) time to provide corrective care.
Without the program many parents would be forced to wait until the situation becomes critical and then seek medical care for their child. At this point, treatment cost more and may not be as effective.
The federal government provides a portion of the funds for this program and the states provide the additional funds (and have administrative responsibility). It is not a perfect system that protects all children, but it does a lot of good for many of them.
Without the federal funds, many states will not be able to provide care for children who desperately need medical help. The burden on the emergency care system will increase and so will the number of families who are financially ruined due to medical cost.
Heather hit the nail on the head,but Bush is so worried that spending money on the health of our children will take away money from his war spending, that he would rather veto the bill. Talk about priorities!
Bush has remained steadfast that the increase in SCHIP would lead the way toward socialized medicine; which he is against. He is wrong. I believe that we should cover all children and let adults fend for themselves in a true market. As it happens now, things are stacked in the insurance companies favor. Too bad that the override didn't happen.
You know, I haven't been following a lot of politics or news lately, but I would like to bet it has a lot of pork hidden in it somewhere or the veto would have been over ridden. don't want to say, because I don't have facts here, but usually when something is very popular with the public, that is what happens with either party in power, Is it totally dead at this point?
