My New apartment

I moved into my new apartment on February 1,2007. It's not large and not too small. I have 3 bedrooms and a living room, kitchen and bathroom. It is a huge house that the owners have made into 3 apartments. The landlords, a family living in the basement and my apartment. In february I was in my 8th month of pregnancy and my sister from California came out to help me with my 2 year old son and to be here for the birth of my baby. Bdfore she came my youngest daughter and I noticed some strange things but we never said anything to each other, I guess because we didn't think about it. But, one day we were in the living room just having casual conversation. She said to me, I heard a sound that sounded like someone drawing in Brianna's room. I said really she replied yes. I then told her that I had heard laughter in the house and I was trying to see where it was coming from, it sounded to me like childrens laughter. When I started looking around the room, I noticed it was coming from the corner. Well like I said , shortly after that experience, my sister came, and the whole time she was here nothing. After she left it started again. This time with my oldest daughter hearing children running up and down my small hallway while she was in the shower. Strange experience or what?

Is it ghosts or do other people live in the house, currently? If you think it is a ghost, check out Ina Townsend Young's articles on ghosts. I do believe that various people, including people here on Gather, have seen/heard ghosts, though, I personally have not.

Digital photography captures ghosts. If you have access to a Digital camera, take a picture of the area you think may have ghosts. I don't think you have to be hearing them to capture them. Ghosts often appear as an unidentified "orb" on a digital photograph.

Mandi (watch where the white chalk goes....) G...was redoing her kitchen a year ago and captured strange orbs with her digital photographs.

Just a thought.

If it's a big old house, it may have had generations of the same family living in it, some of whom got attached to the house. If you want to try keeping out the ghosts, put a candle in front of a mirror (preferably big) at night. The theory is that the ghost will look in the mirror and realize it doesn't have a shadow, and that it is dead. Ghosts can be unconscious of their true state. They are re-living the past. My kids were bothered at night by these "second physicals" (they exist in the next level beyond the physical) when they were little, even though we built our own house. Could be that the spooks were attached to the neighborhood? Who knows. My youngest built a wall of stuffed animals around his bed to protect him. I also did the candle thing a few times for each of them. The kids are in their teens now and don't seem to be bothered anymore; at least they haven't mentioned anything. Maybe your ghosts are attracted to your kids as well as the house?

that could be true. My son used to talk to someone that I could not see. I'd ask him who he was talking to and he would say to her. There was no one there. this was about 3 weeks ago. I haven't seen him do it since.

Keep a diary of the occurences and investigate other possibilities that might be tricking your imagination (I love to watch Ghost Hunters and find some of the non-haunting answers). I had my own "haunting" experience years ago when living in a deceased woman's house: at night the television would come on (it was an older set, and you had to pull out the switch to turn it on). I finally got fed up with it "accidentally" coming on every night, and unplugged it.

It came on that night, too.
