There are so many conspiracy theories to go around we could blame Obama for, as the lefties blamed and still blame Bush, why not have some fun.

1. The recent earthquakes in California.

2. My left big toe has an ingrown toenail, and I believe Obama did it.

I could go on, but I get tired of acting like  liberal.

I think I'll blame Obuma for my menopausal symptoms, too! LOL

Kim Jong Il IS crazy, orchestrated or not, he is a loose cannon. No one can control him, however he is obsessed with American movies and actors. I say, send Brad Pitt or whomever he likes the best there, to "negotiaite" wiht his crazy mindset.

Good timing, Dan.  Saturday afternoon I'm attending a presentation on what "really" happened on 9/11.  Do I think Bush and his boys "did it"?  Not necessarily.  But I do NOT believe the Twin Towers and Building Seven were toppled and melted down as a result of airplane strikes. I'll let you know what I learn.........

It is believed that, prior to the attack, someone also planted explosives that could be detonated either remotely, or as a chain reaction started by the intense heat.  Who planted the explosives?  You're guess is as good as mine, but my guess is that it's the same terrorists that planned the attack.

Another theory is that, during construction of the towers, asbestos (a well-known fire retardant) was used to coat the girders.  However, the use of asbestos was discontinued about half-way up because of health concerns.  It might not have been a coincidence that the planes hit the buildings above the asbestos points.

C'mon.  An aircraft is a flying bomb (especially one that has just gotten aloft), no amount of abestos on some girders would have stopped that much fuel mixed with all the flammable material in a normal office building to stop anything.

As for the explosive chain theory of some people...yeah right.  Anyone have a clue on the amount of explosives needed to do such a blast and the time to install?  A country that can't keep even military secrets like ours somehow still has kept the whole 9/11 Conspriracy secret....

Actually, I'm Dan K, not Dan E ... but I think we have similar opinions.  The point I was making is that, whether the fall was caused by the planes, by additional explosives or lack of fire retardant, it was a terrorist act -- 100%.

Absent evidence of any conspiracy to orchestrate the 9/11 attacks, those theories are simply emotional and illogical.  But the evidence does exist that the Bush administration chose to ignore warnings about a 9/11 style attack (the Presidential Briefing Memoes that Condaleeza Rice testified about before the 9/11 commission).  Could Bush et al have prevented 9/11 if they kep their eye on the ball?  Maybe, maybe not.  Could it be that they deliberately waited until something happened so that they could use the outrage from the event as a convenient tool for manipulation of public opinion?  Well, it is possible and was certainly a very convenient event in terms of getting public support behind the PNAC agenda, as had been previously mused by members of the PNAC, but we will likely never find any smoking gun to prove it.

Which leaves us with the question:  exactly what could the Obama administration have done to make Kim Jong Il decide to detonate nuclear bombs, launch missiles, tear up a 56 year old truce?  How could they have arranged this?

A good conspiracy theory must have plausibility on its side in order to stand up to scrutiny.

Thank you for that direct-from-the-far-left opinion Rory.  If you don't see the possibility (not the probability) that there were some behind-the-scenes dirty deals, then you really are a left-wing lemming.

I'm not muh of a conspiracy theorist, but I did wonder about Biden's statement last year.  I wondered it if would dare someone to challenge the new President.  And I did ponder whether or not something might be orchestrated.  :)

I don't find either consipracy theory plausable.  Especially not one that has Obama controling N. Korea.

The Bush Administration took advantage of the 9/11 events just as any good politicians would.  But that doesn't mean that they knew ahead of time that the attack would take place.  Simple human screwup(s) explain those events far better than conspiracy.

I try to use reason but that doesn't keep me from being wrong.  Of course it does eliminate some of the more obvious errors but it's so difficult to be right about anything since I'm only human.

I don't think the Conservative movement has enough of the kind of Conspiracy Theorists that come up with that kind of thing and then believe it... there are a few, which is why some people believe that Bill and Hillary Clinton killed everyone who got in their way. (Seriously, some people fervently believe that!) However, I don't think anyone is going to believe that Obama deliberately caused the current situation.

I'll bet there's some loon out in the Pacific Northwest forests that'll believe it.

Theoretically one could write a story about any subject, and in that story anything can happen. It may even sound plausible or probable... but that does not make it factual. Separating fact from fiction, however, requires examination from all angles and we can not do that when the view from some angles is restricted.

Seeing as Kim Jong Il and his looneytunes ideas have been plagueing America since long before we had ever heard of Obama, I strongly doubt there is even any curiosity over this silly statement.

Remember when Bush went into Iraq? Lots of people said then that there were no weapons of mass destruction there and that he should look to No. Korea.

Why do so many Conservatives think all these troubles began with Obama, they have been carrying on for the past 8 years!

I don't believe either (911 or N. Korea) was a conspiracy.  

As much as I didn't care for G.W., I DO truly believe he loved this country and did everything in his power, once it had happened, to prevent more from happening.  (Several attacks WERE FOILED because of the techniques so many have criticized) and I CRINGE in pain everytime I think of the alternative (what if Gore had been the president at the time!!! GASP!)

Meanwhile, as far as the current administration goes, I think the Obamassiah is so hellbent on pleasing the left and fulfilling their bottled up dreams that  he doesn't have enough energy or ingenuity leftover to improvise a way to make Mr. Kim Jong Dong do what he wants.  Biden doesn't have enough brains.  So if it WERE a conspiracy there'd be one person left to point the finger at.... Momma Pelosi. 

Occams razor guys.  N. Korea knows it can do quite a bit and get away with it with Obama and so will push it until bribed sufficiently like Bush I and Clinton both did to kick the can down the road some more.  He'll push until bribed or until he gets to sell a few of his bombs to some needy country like Iran or a nice terrorist group with a good cause.
