Life is too short for much of what goes on. We all do not know when our lives will end. We don't know when our last breath will be drawn. We will all die one day to this world.
Many talk about living our life as if each day were our last. I think we should live our lives as if everyone around us were living the last day of their life. I think if we turned that one around, there would be less pain and hurt in this world.
Life is too short for petty squabbles and family feuds. Sometimes people don't even remember what happened to cause the rift. Sometimes we don't know all the facts and draw wrong conclusions and pass judgements on others. There is no reparation if you judge and shut the doors on someone in your life.
We are not to judge one another. Matthew 7:1 Do not judge so that you will not be judged.
God knows when we sin and he will judge through Jesus:
Romans 2:16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.
Many people become Christians and think part it is their job is to point out others sins to them. It is annoying to people who don't believe in God and more annoying to people who do and have already confessed their sins. God is not a sin accountant, thus if you are keeping tabs on others, you misunderstood something. We are to draw others to Jesus in love, not condemnation.
Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
1 Peter 4:8
Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit will point out to us what we have done wrong and help us be better people thus to have better lives. If we don't listen, he will become silent. It is our choice to listen.
John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
Now if we have the perspective that the people around us are living their last day, we can treat them with love and respect and know if it was their last day, that we would not live in regret for what we did.
All of us may be minutes from our leaving this earth at any time...we never know. Even seemingly healthy teenagers particapating in sports die from unknown medical injuries. We just never know...
Just try to love people and not let your anger linger. Life is too short sometimes. We just never know.
