Hi, I am considering unschooling this fall as more more conventional "textbook based" lessons started to freak out my son, who is starting to show some inability to pay attention, sit still, etc and cries at the drop of a hat as soon as he opens any text book. He started out the previous Fall in 2nd grade, reading at least 2 grade levels above, in the talented & gifted program at his magnet school, etc. While I'm waiting to see the new pediatrician, can anyone comment on their experiences with Unschooling? I'm not interested in the "experts" opinions, but those of everyday people in the "trenches"(or kitchens) of homeschooling on a daily basis. Thanks

We're classical home educators ourselves so I don't have much to say. I will say I lean more and more toward the unschooling model as time goes by.
hey did you know that next week, there is an unschoolers gathering at kalahari waterpark in sandusky? over 700 of us! we can't wait. email me if you want more info. :)
