Drinking lemon drop martini's
While at a garden party,
I swung over to the buffet
Where the food was far from hardy.
All the fancy dresses talking
I knew I didn't fit in,
Watercress sandwiches
Among tiny petit fours in tins
An idea came from way back when
"Where's the beef?" and potatoes too?
I went round and round
Not much to eat, not much to do.
I sat down for another drink.
Lemon drop martinis will see me through.
