If you received an announcement in the mail today and it said that you and your family won an all paid all expense vacation that you could schedule to take at any time during your life, what vacation would you pick? Sorry, none of the above. My choice would be I.) somewhere around Monterey or Big Sur, California, where the surf meets the turf, where the waves meet the trees. Very pretty area.

A for me if I have to choose from the given alternatives. I would love to experience Grand Canyon and have always wanted to see Arizona too. By the way, if I could choose any destination it would be Madagascar.

Hawaii. I've never been there. I want to see a volcano because my Dad slept through one going off during the war. And all I've heard of it makes it seem so beautiful.

I have to say none of the above, my worldly self may at times want for such things but I don't allow it to worm its way into my heart. I am planing a mission trip within the next year and wouldn't mind if the expenses were all met ahead of time but with God helping with the plans I guess they will be met just fine!
I saw the grand canyon from the south rim which was fine by me.

Then my family and I spent 2 days in Monument valley Utah and arizona..we took the private all day tour of the valley that you can not see yourself... if you live in the US you have to do that tour before you die...

The reason I wrote this article is because I have been wanting to go with my family to the Grand Canyon. I saw it as a child when we moved across the country and it left an impression on me. I often use it as an example of the power of what many drops of water can do, like the power of what many prayers can do. I'd like my daughter to see it as it is an awesome sight. I was curious to see where others would want to go and threw a few suggestions out. I was interested to see where others wanted to go and why. Personally, at this point the best I can do is walk around my local supermarket and it has taken me awhile to get the strength in my leg to do that so I'm not heading too far too soon. Our last real vacation was 10 years ago...

I would like a trip back in time to when I was young, my family in tact and everything was good and happy, but if I can't go there, and I know I can't I like Islands, so would pick H. Hawaii.

Heather, years ago my daughter was blessed to be competing in a national cross country event in Reno. I was almost as excited as she was. On the plane she was celebrated by many because of her work to get to the race. (A mama's got to brag.) I think she secretly enjoyed me beaming with pride. As we got close to the Grand Canyon I kept asking is that it? People around me giggled at me. Finally someone said, "trust me you will know when you see it." About that time it loomed below us. I was in awe. There was a hush on the plane and a tear in my eye.

What a story, Trish! The Grand Canyon is awesome! Years ago my husband went to a convention in Las Vegas and his company was willing to fly him home from Phoenix. We had friends who lived in Cottonwood, so he flew up to Phoenix and spent the weekend with them. I insisted he go so he could see the Grand Canyon and he was able to arrange to fly over the canyon in a helicopter!
