I just looked at FactCheck and Biden sure did play loose with all those claims about how McCain voted.

As I look through this post that is littered with errors in grammar and hatchet jobs on the meanings of so many words, I begin to understand the class war that the GOP is trying to wage. I wonder how flattered Govenor Palin would be if she truly understood why she was asked to be McTesty's running mate.

The GOP regularly rails against the "intellectual elite" this is typical GOP codespeak for people whose IQ's are somwhere north of room temperature. Her rambling, meandering monologues last night only served to prove exactly what sector of the populace McSame is seeking to appeal to, and the irony is that the very traits that identify them as members of that sector keep them from understanding that they are being insulted by the very people who smile at them and claim to just like them ... Joe six pack.

It's really quite sad!

Oh and based on your attempt at an Obama/Hitler correlation, Since Jesus was a wonderful, charismatic speaker capable of drawing large crowds, can I assume that you apply the same backwards logic to correlate Jesus to Hitler? I suggest that you step away from your keyboard and pick up a book or two. Perhaps you can borrow from Sarah palin's collection. I hear that she reads whatever they put in front of her.

I liked Biden when he ran for president, but I was not impressed with him last night. I wondered too why Obama picked him.

Biden has been in office longer than I've been around (born)...that does scare me.

I guess he impressed me in the debate, but what do I know? And at least he ran, which means he cared enough to want the job, and we've had a chance to learn about him. I suspect Obama picked him at least in part because he values his experience.

Obama picked Biden because Biden brought experience to a tickect that otherwise had NONE. Obama wouldn't pick Hillary because he could not admit he needed her and probably still does.
Biden has tried several times unsuccessfully for a run at the Presidency. Yes he has years and years of Foreign Policy experience and that is what Obama needed. It obviously didn't matter to Obama about Bidens baggage and reputation for untruths

I would like to ask If Obama's slogan of "Change" is true why have we been subjected to the same old same old Campaign Rhetoric. I feel as if I'm watching the Jimmy Carter campaign all over again.

I supposed Biden for his "expertise" in foreign policy to make up for Obama's lack of experience.

Biden has extensive experience in the Senate, especially in several areas Obama is light in. He is not a 'top of the ticket' guy, but he is solid.

Also, he is fairly clean - never cheated on his wife.

Great article, Carol. Why did Obama pick Biden? because he needed someone with experience to back him up. Obama is all talk - no experience whatsoever. He needed someone with lots of Washington experience.

Biden is considered one of the most intelligent people in the Senate and also maybe the MOST knowledgeable when it comes to foreign policy. In fact GWB (your hero Lera) has called him to his office on many occasions for advice on Foreign affairs. GWB oviously didn't listen to a lot of that advice or act on it though and that is the big shame of it.

Obama graduated MAGNA CUM LAUDE from Harvard law Lera, And you are questioning his intelligence also? While you are supporting Mr. 5th from the bottom of his class in the Naval Academy! WOW!!

Dan, FDR was a good speaker also and one of the most liberal presidents ever and look what he did in leading the country against Hitler, the Nazis and the Japanese. I've heard Obama compared to FDR on many occasions. That is a more accurate comparison by people who do not operate in a world of ignorance.

You know funny thing is a few months ago I was hardly involved in the political parts of Gather. I was also very undecided on who I was voting for. A combination of reading the policies and visions of both Obama and McCain, Doing a lot of detailed research on the FACTS of what both of them are all about, plus seeing the ignorance of SOME of the McCain/Palin supporters here on Gather I moved firmly into the Obama/Biden corner and I am sure for those reasons I've given and also a few others that I am on the right side of where this country and the people of this country will be better served. In fact I am absolutely sure of it. There have only been a few things in my life before that I have been this sure of and those all turned out to be the best decisions I ever made.

So to those FEW here on Gather that make no secret of their ignorace, thank you very much for that and after Obama is elected and the country begins a long period of recovery from Bush/Cheney/Rove/McCain I am sure that many other people who you pushed over to the best side by showing your ignorance will also thank you!!

Ok I think some have the wrong Dan. I did a compairison showing some of Hitler's speeches, modified to fit Obama, and showed how close the two were in their speaking to the public. With the exception of Obama using telepromters and Hitler used memorized speeches, Obama is much like him in his speaking ability.

The only real difference between Obama and Biden, is Obama supported and helped this financial mess we're in, and Biden actually was against it.
Biden also missed 31.6% of the congress Votes, while Obama missed 46.3%.

Personally I think both the Republicans and the Democrats have sold out to the highest bidder. Which is why I am not voting for either of them, I'll vote Barr instead.

Actually you did not. But you have to remember, "Context of a statement" does not mean anything to a liberal. They read the words, and never what is said. This is why they are so easily mislead.
When we read anything, it should always be the main point to read the context, because the context of a message is the actual meat of it. Which Dan I am sure you know.

I was a republican, conservative, frugal and own a business.I also went to college, learned few things about the party and Bush failures and I am voting for Obama.
My philosophy is aligned with the constitution not the party who is trying to change it.
I will never be a slave to a fascist government, I am aware and alert and cling to my gun and my religion.
I am also ready to fight for the republic if necessary.

One of the fundamentals of this country is that the end does not justify an immoral means.

Funny you should say that, Carol, because although I don't support either candidate, that so many people support Obama whose opinions I hold in such extremely low regard and who are of the lowest common denominator of decency, even if I did like him and his policies, I would probably not vote for him.
