I was abandon by my family at birth. My only importance until I left home and went into the Navy on active duty was I was an imcome tax deduction (sp)

Would that be one of Obama's African half brother's who live among many other siblings, mothers, aunts and uncles? I think Obama has met them only once or twice in his life when he was an young adult. They have little in common, including ambition, education or religion. Some of Obama's extended African family is best left in Africa.

Obama's father has something like a dozen kids from different women. Now it's Obama's responsiblity to chase them all down and make sure they are doing well? The father who left his wife when Obama was 2 and he saw just once afterwards.

That's ludicrous!

Let me get this straight. The McCain campaign released a statement saying that Cindy was an only child because she did not grow up with her sister who only got $10,000 when their father died. She also has no responsibility with her other half sister from her mom side.

Her sister who lives in Arizona!

Her sister who claims she spent XMas and B-day with their common father.

But Obama, has moral responsibility for the dozen or so half brothers who live in a different continent from a father he does not know.

It is no wonder that we in the United States get one lousy administration after another when people who have the righ to vote will spread this type of junk whether it is true or not. Will we ever grow up?

Cindy's story, which I think is garbage, is even closer to her since they live in the same state. This kid lives in Africa, Obama grew up in Hawai and went after his father's death to meet all these people. How is this relevant?

Clearly, both men have gone through both personal and private struggles to get where they are. What they have accomplished in the face of hardship is remarkable by any standard: the American work ethic.

I have worked hard for 30+ years in teaching. I have more graduate school education than my brother. He has an MBA and has achieved an VP position in Corporate. I am so very proud of him and in awe of his financial success. He understands fiscal management and economics better than I cold ever hope to. I could diagnose a reading disability at 50 yards. These are skills he admires about me.

We share a common American work ethic. Trying to count up houses, book sales, cost of a haircut, price of shoes, good investments, or good luck has nothing to do with which Candidate will better improve our lives through the positions they advance!

Is it easier to sit back an try to dissect the lives of the rich and famous or get a better cost for a gallon of gas?

C'mon people! This is not American Idol or Survivor! Do you really think that any of us will be thinking about any of this peripheral trash once either guy gets to the White House? Why do it now? I don't get it!

We know this, Cindy's half sister got $10,000 after her father's death. She got $100 million that she is sharing with McCain. You want to talk about $1 a month, talk about $10,000 over $100,000.

Ok, so others have mentioned the details surrounding his relationship with his brother, but I will say this.

I'm surprised that the party that relishes in "picking yourself up by the bootstraps" has a problem with this, or even cares. I would think that they would be the ones saying that Obama's brother is his own man, has his own life, and creates his own path. He doesn't need a handout, just a strong will and determination.

I have a step sister that I have met twice. Her Mother was married to my Dad for 5 years, during which time she convinced my Dad to adopt the 14 year old who was getting into drugs, boys etc...stating that "it would make her ok, if she knew she had a "real father"... He never saw her after her Mother's funeral, about 15 years ago. Now, 20 years later, both have passed on.
