This being April Fools Day, I wonder how many people either played a joke on someone, or were themselves a victim of this tradition. Is it outdated, or is it still a fun thing to do or be a part of?
My girls have split a few oreo cookies, put some hot sauce inside, and put them back together. They will be served to hubby and son after dinner. hehe.
read something on gather that i don't think was true...but didn't play any jokes.. i did send an email to my son written in another language...but i do things like that sometiimes and didn't do it because of the day...i just noticed the different script on the email font page and tried it out....we study languages together. thanks for asking
As a matter of fact, I was the victim of a joke today. My Business Communications professor said that we all did poorly on the recent exams. So, she said "POP QUIZ!".
We figured it out though, as she really is not a good liar. She had us going for a little while...
Listening to "Marketplace" on NPR, I heard an incredible story about how the IRS was delivering tax rebates to selected families in the form of commodities, such as air conditioners and toaster ovens. I was completely taken in until the host advised listeners to "check your calendars".
I love April Fool's day. I always have a lot of fun. I didn't fall for anything today. Not even my mother announcing her engagement to a man she's dated for years.
I had planned to steal my husband's car out of the parking lot at his office but ran out of time due to some lousy customer service elsewhere that was apparently the joke on me since it kept happening everywhere I went.
I played a sweet joke on my kids. But they were too smart and figured it out. I said i was going to make them eggs so I put whipped topping on a plate and placed a half a peach on top of the topping to make it look like a sunny side egg. But they figured it out. They want me to do it tomorrow too ;)
Unless my car refusing to start after work this afternoon and me having to call and wake my boyfriend up after him only being asleep 4 hours was a practical joke, no.
I didn't play any jokes and no one played any on me. I'm not much into April Fool's stuff or fooling anyone about anything at any time. I don't even like surprise parties.
My son told me at 10:30 this evening that he had a report due. I must have given him a look because he was very quick to say "April Fools"~ Thank God.....I hate reports that are done the night before in a frenzy.
The BBC in the UK played an elaborate visual joke they said that a new rare breed of penguins had been discovered who can fly, complete with a film it was very clever, if it wasn't for the date I may have believed them
I was alert to this April fool thing. Takes all the fun away. Wish I did not know it was April 1st. Google's was pretty good. I wonder who felt for it.
When I was working outside the home poeple at my work were always tried to pull some kind of prank. I didn't have any pulled this year or pull any on anyone else.
I had to take my son to court on that day. No joke. I wrote a satire article about April. I certainly was not in a good mood. I remove myself from 3 Gather groups and removed 52 people from my friends list.
George I remember a joke I played on my 6th grade teacher as I really didn't like her bad attitude towards all us kids. At lunch time I stayed in the classroom, cut out a large ink spill in balck paper. Got an empty inkwell, placed the paper on her new desk pad laid the inkwell on it's side it looked so real!! I sat at my desk ate my lunch and did some home work. The kids came back from lunch they said, " Oh no!! Look at that on Ms. G.'s new desk pad!! Some body's in big trouble!!" They sat down then in came the teacher she started to walk past her desk and suddenly stopped, "What in the world is this?? why who would have done such a thing!!" She took a closer look and touched the paper then turned to the class, "Barbara, you are the only one that is this talented to pull this off." She was actually smiling she didn't smile that much at all. I didn't get in any trouble that day George!! *smiles* Just Me Barbie
