Paper or plastic

I thought I could resist but I heard on the news tonight that the big debate is now: Paper or plastic. Please vote. I vote for PAPER. There is no doubt in my mind. I will annouce the winner someday.

I agree. I hate the plastic bags but the stores won't put the paper bags out.

It depends for what....milk jugs: neither (let me just carry them)
regular foods: paper
Frozen food on a hot day: Plastic (I hate when the paper bag gets mushy and my food falls out the bottom)

Plastic is actually better for the environment. I can't remember which website it was, but it was an organizatoin that evaluated the environmental impact of different things, and said that plastic was better. On CNN today, they discussed the topic and said that paper bags produce 70% more air pollution in their production, and yet still cost more.

They dont even use paper in my area anymore.
Personally, I think we should all carry our own bags and reuse them. I have a bag that I made that I use. It is sorta like a tote bag.

I do hate the plastic too, but don't these degrage fairly quick? I thought they did.

My pet peeve is bottle caps. I always screw them back on very tight before I throw out a bottle. If the cap gets thrown out by itself, it will often find it's way into an animals stomach... they mistake it for food. Many birds and fish die from plastic bottle caps.
