I would get my computer. It has my genealogy, life story in family pictures, family stories, copies of certificates and many other things that bring back the memories from the past... to become the present.

I just took a quick walk through and don't really see anything that would be more important than my family and pets lives.
My sister currently has all my photo albums and family tree stuff at her place. I have given all my good jewelry and mementoes to my children.
My old dinosaur computer (monitor, tower, keyboard, mouse, scanner, 3 in 1 printer, etc. is way too big and bulky to even think about trying to move.
My TVs are all going to be obsolete in February unless I can get those converter coupons (I had some, but they only last 90 days, and WalMart was always out of them)(Have more ordered in my daughters name, as they won't extend them or let you get more).
I guess if my house were to start on fire right now I would grab my library book I'm currently reading (Bag of Bones) and my cup of coffee. My cigarette pack is in my pocket and my cell phone is on my belt.
Maybe my drugs - but they are all replaceable.

Regalia. long braids with strands of beads in them. Beaded

If possible, just like most have said photos. Also documents. I lost all in a fire some twenty odd years ago, and the many photos I had I still miss, as well as my high school year book, which I have not found a way to replace.

recently had to go thru this as flood threatened to come here. My photos are backed up off site. BUT my old film camera ones were top on my list. Then my safe and its contents, which includes my pate gramma's high school autograph book and a book that my other gramma taught songs out of in a country school in 1914.

The only other thing would be the VHS tapes of my son's toddlerhood.

Flood never came but the scare sure was cathartic.

assuming hubby and kitty are safe, my cell phone and my wedding rings. i rarely wear them 'cause rings tend to get on my nerves, especially when they are a bit big and won't stay still...which is the case with my wedding rings...i'm also including my grandmother's ring but that stays where i have the other two anyway !

I have all of my kids baby albums in a fire proof box, pictures can't be replaced so that's what I would save. My sister-in-law's house burned down and she said they were the only thing that couldn't be replaced.
