We have an egret or two come and visit every day but usually they stay down at the edge of the pond and I don't bother taking pictures because I have already posted a few. Today this egret came up the hill and was right outside our screen door to our back porch. I took two photos through the screen, but they were mostly screen. He walked a few feet down the row so I very quietly went outside to capture these photos following him as he casually took a stroll. It's very unusual to see them up on the grass, as a matter of fact, this is the first time I've seen them this close. Also, they usually fly away if you get too close. We like to see them tilt their head and catch the little fish in the pond.

He finally went about his job of finding fish for his dinner.

I just love the egrets! Nice photos, Nana!
I love egrets! I've missed them ever since we left FL in 1997. :) In one neighborhood there where we lived, there were about 4 that would come to visit after dinner, expecting to be rewarded by tuna. Once they hit a few homes, they'd all take off together.
that is one great bird

Great shots, Nana. We had one land on our roof once, that's my only claim to fame:)
Nice action shot. Those egrets seem to be standing still, but in reality those suckers are always moving.
