Well, today I thought I would go out and get some yard work done...needed to get crackin' on the garden area that I wanted to make...It did not feel hot as we had a nice breeze. I should have known better than to go out without sunscreen...I am paying for my stupidity now! Anyone got any at home treatments for sunburn? I can't get to the store untill the boys get back to school Monday and only have a little aloe... :>{
Isn't it just so pretty! lol

Now, here is what I was doing to get such a wonderful color on my back.....
here is the spot I have chosen for the additional garden space....

I don't know what I was thinking.....this ground is so blinkin' hard! It is about 6" of clay then a hard pack like concrete! The last photo, that took about an hour with the pick axe...
Now, after fueling up on green tea; iced with lemon, I put my hair up and went at it....
so, about 6 hours later, here it is! I planted most of the veggies that where in the house and taking over :>}

Planted several rows of beans....put in the eggplant, squash, and more tomatoes.
After I came in I took a nice shower and went to go peek at my flowers and look what I found!!

the poppies, fairy rose and dragon arum...so pretty~ :>P

Clematis is blooming!!!
Last year the sheep decided to eat some of my shade plants I was not happy camper with that stunt~ wooly buggers! They came back~~~ Happy Dance~~

So that was my wonderful, productive, painfull day~
Anyone have any ideas for the burn? My back feels like it is on fire at the moment :>P

Thank you in advance for any advice on the burn~
good suggestions
And i had forgotten about vinegar. I would go get my mom's home remedy book, but brad's giving me a time at the moment, so i'm in pretty much one position.
Or a cool shower or bath
I will try the cold cloth, the wet hair feels nice lol
And yep, a good ole cold shower can work too :)
i had a third degree burn and got packed with wet backing soda, it took the heat out and kept me from peeling. The dr. back in the dawn of the 60s did this treatment!
that or avoid the sun completely
Drink a lot of water too.
I'm late on this one. Heather T. has the right idea. Oldies, but still works the best. You just got a head start on the summer tan. LOL
hehehe...summer tan is now gone....I blistered and now it is peeling :>{ no tan now <pout>
My aunt gives her children baths in tea. It should turn into a tan with that treatment.
Shaving cream works wonders to pull out all of the heat and soreness....make sure you don't use the menthol shaving cream, though, it'll sting like crazy!
hope you are better by now :) - stopping by to PIF
I've found that warm water and vinegar in a spray bottle works very well. I also keep a bottle of aloe gel in the fridge to cool the burns. I'd use the aloe first, then the vinger/water mix.
Nutrasoothe and Aveeno oatmeal baths can help a lot, too. Be sure to use unscented body lotion to keep from peeling. PIF
Make a paste out of warm water and baking soda, or just put it in the tub and soak or Zinc Oxcide if you have it!! Sorry about your burn! But your garden looks like it coming right along! :-) Dropping by from Points Nation!
Oh boy too many remedies. I hope your skin got better. By the way your garden looks good.
I am a red head, so I can definetly help in the department. Boil some tea. Put it in the fridge tea bags and all. When it gets cold, use the tea bags to put the tea on. It feels really good! PIF
Looks like you got some good advice here..
Just stopping by to PIF>>>
One of the best sun burn remedies I have used myself is Aloe Vera ointment. It's very soothing and quite cheap. If it's a little more serious, and you feel like you've actually been burned, using some hydrocortisone cream is probably a good idea, to help start the healing process.
Best of luck, and next time, please wear sunscreen! (:

An oatmeal bath would help and I understand rubbing a sun burn with cucumber slices or potato slices will help too.
