Awesome photography, Donna! I love the way water transforms things. The still water gives such a clear reflection, but the moving water distorts with a multitude of reflected bits. A reflective piece, indeed.
Wow! Beautiful and serene pictures to go with really thought-provoking poetry. Those are some huge koi fish - very colorful. I love how the water adds a dreamy quality to these shots.
That's really beautiful. The fish are almost neon and the contrast with the bird and reflections are awesome. Very nice and it gave me a smile this afternoon, which I needed after scrubbing tile in the bathroom.
Donna -- this is gorgeous! I'm also stealing Kris's line here, too. (I hereby nominate Kris to do all my heavy thinking for me tonight. I've got some nasty upper-respiratory thing and somebody's got to be doing it for me.)
Jeez, that's a tall order. I could think for a lot of people around here and it'd be a vast improvement, but now I have to be as amusing as Joy. I'll give it my best shot...
Thanks. It's lovely to return to all these nice comments.
Dannielle, the reflections and macros were a challenge for me. I'm still learning to work the camera functions and this was a test. I did love the results though and I did think a bit about how I might photoshop it with an impressionist layer. I'll play with that sometime--when I have time to learn Photoshop-- but for now, I'm just thrilled to be learning to take the shots.
John, thanks very much, sir.
Jennifer, thank you. The fish were huge indeed!
Faith, thanks, you make me blush. These were taken, as you found, near Poipu, Kauai. The fish were certainly well fed and made great subjects for photo practice.
Vicky, thank you.
Thank you, Magi. I appreciate it.
elizabeth, thank you very much. That means a lot.
Cheryl, thanks so much.
Kris, Hah! We can arrange that. I have the photos, I have the words. No problem! Thanks.
Jim, Thanks very much. I'm usually not poetic either but these photos seemed to call for something other than prose. (As a frog, I'd have to admit that my perception is usually fairly fluid.:)
Ah...so you are a poet too. I love these photos and was lifted by your shining descriptions. Thank you for posting this to Photographic Reflections, my small but illustrious group of photographers!
Such lovely water photos Donna! The reflections in the still water are stunning - and I soo love reflections, as you know! The fish in the other photos - truly amazing! Very well done!
Donna, your photo essays are extremely well put together and tell a story, and the order in which you show your pictures really makes sense and tells a story in and of itself. Keep up the great work!
