After a few days of rain the sun finally came out.
While taking out the garbage I felt nature's irresistible invitation.
I called my sister and suggested we meet halfway between our houses for a stroll.
I brought my husband and she brought her dog, Biscuit.

Biscuit is wearing my husband's glasses for this shot.

The position of the sun was at odds with my camera but I carried on and took what I could with the default setting on my Nikon Coolpix 5400m. The sunlight has a mind of its own.

The reflection of the tree in the glassy water intrigued me.
I have no idea what this juicy looking plant could be. Let me know if you can identify it.

Here's a view of an oak.

And another....

Here is the creek.

This is the best shot of the bridge.
It was taken sideways and turning it around in picasa did
not solve the problem of publishing it at the highest
resolution. I still have a lot to learn about the camera
and about publishing images.
We saw the tell tale signs of the bedding place for the deer.

Heading home we enjoyed the green that the rains brought to the scene

And the textures of the trees.

You seem to live in beautiful surroundings. Is that where your wonderful sense of poetry and your love for life comes from.
Picasa has a manipulation called "sharpness". It's not in the forefront of the enhancement buttons. It's very powerful. Sometimes too powerful for what I want to do.
I love the grass shot where the deer had been. I have a loe for wild animals.
Bravo Jan.
That sideways shot--try re sizing it in EDIT..maybe around 1500 pixels in height and length, both , should do the trick. Save it again as SAVE AS with a different name and upload.
That is, if you are willing to go through the entire process all over again!
P.S. no offence meant, but I was smiling at the line' I brought my husband and she brought her dog.'
Very cute dog! Very camera savvy!
This morning I wrote a poem about the "green and red pipes". You inspired me to write about what I was thinking when I took that shot.
What a lovely lot of comments to read from my favorite Gather friends. Thank you!!!
