Since becomin
g a member of Gather several years ago I have come accross numerous "articles", or posts, consisting of a title but absolutely no words, nothing, nada, in the body of the article. In other words the title is the article. What is the logic in this? I can't even speculate.
Often times these wordless articles garner a great many views and comments. So here is my 'wordless' article. Let's see how many comments I get!

This is the first wordless post I've come across, but then I tend to check out photographs more than anything else. This strikes me as something composed by a deep-thinker. Perhaps it's a way of saying the slate is clean and you can say whatever you want to say. (I'll leave the light on... lol). I like your photo composition, Thomas, and I hope you get a lot of comments as I find it a bit intriguing myself! Take care. ^i^
I enjoyed your comment; it was quite unexpected. We'll see what happens.
.
Berfy: Thanks for the . That says a lot.
Too late! This article is full of words. Even the picture 'speaks' :)
It was an article about 'nothing', with a picture of 'nothing'. Thanks for commenting.
Here's another comment for you, Thomas. I haven't ever seen a wordless article, but have seen ones shorter than the title. Your picture, to me, said POTENTIAL, and you have strung your words together very nicely. Have a great day! 8)
Shannon: Thanks for the nice comments.
Thomas what is an example of a wordless article? Do you mean articles with just photos? I don't know how many I've seen with just a heading.
Oh now I know what your talking about. "Do you like celery?" would be an example
Not quite, Vincent. "Do you like celery" is the article, not the title. In time you will come accross what I am talking about.
And some articles that are chock full of words, none of which convey any sensible thoughts. Hmmmm?
Yes, there's plenty of those too, but I tend to shy away from making judgements. I, myself, occasionally post silly or pointless articles, but when I do I say so up front so no one thinks it is another of my brilliant, thought provoking masterpieces.
i'm afraid the point is ...... the points
That seems pointless to me.
lol ointless is right Thomas. thats why i would like to see better content if we think about is we should be able to (ad) to the conversation.
The Bab (The Gate)
“I am the Gate, and you are the Gate of the Gate.” (The Bab)
I am familiar with that quote.
help elucidate this issue.
I and Thu
Was that a typo? Did you actually mean worthless not wordless?
I said 'wordless' because there were no words in the article. That's a fact. To be 'worthless' I would have to make judgement call, and I don't like to judge other people's behavior. But it does make one wonder.
Perhaps the title is just an invitation to comment on the one statement.
Perhaps. But if the title intrigues me enough to open up the post and there is nothing there I feel disappointed.
Thomas,
I'm afraid your "prologue" renders your article verbose! By minimalist standards.
James: I like to be thorough, even when talking about nothing.
