I have often wondered what percentage of the posts and photographs here on Gather are original to the author and what percentage are copied from other sources. From my perusal of articles and photos over the years it has become obvious to me that a great deal of the material found here is copied from various sources.
I am not condemning copied works or the people that reproduce them as long as the original source is cited. Often times it is quite appropriate to share with the Gather community the works of others; this may be the only way many of us would ever come accross many great thoughts, ideas or works of art.
Personally all my posts, with one or two exceptions, have been original. I feel that self expression is, or should be, one of the purposes of Gather. What are your views on this matter? What do you prefer to post under your name?

My posts, unfortunately, can only be blamed on me! Only once have I done a cut and paste and that one was, I felt, informational and I stated it was a copy and past at the front. The others probably give themselves away as no one would copy a past something that badly written!

I'm new here, but anywhere I post, it's usually my own comment or article with links to other sources for further reading and to back up what I'm trying to say. I never ever copy and paste forwards, I detest forwards of any kind and will be among the first to debunk any with source material and/or my own comments.
